| Sammutt has been dropped by the Head Coach of WAkefield Trinity Wildcats who happens to select the team.

| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "Or the coach upon resigning Smith believed it would be better in the time available to play him in partnership with Sykes. He probably also feels Mathers is the best option at full back therefore until one is injured why will he change a winning team. This is what you have all been demanding all season and now the new coach is you are all becoming paranoid looking for something that is not there. If correct he is going to Featherstone to keep match fit just like many other SL clubs do with their players. It was not that long ago that Charnley from Wigan was playing in the championship.'"
Don't think you should be taring us all with same brush.
Talking like you are a school master to a class of naughty children is not helping you.
There are some of us who much to your dislike, are not totally daft!

He was selected and the coaches thought he bottled several tackles against Bradford (I didn't go so didn't see the incidents). He was then dropped for the incident and shipped out to fev on dual reg (they can't afford to sign him this year hence the dual reg).'"
If that's the case then fair enough. I must say his twitter account is full of Bradford stuff and he did say he hoped they beat Huddersfield at magic weekend !!?? However all I want is the reason he is not playing - if it's for said reasons then fair enough or if he's not selected cos of form then I have to accept that but there is NO commemt from the club thus far and the press statements seem to be incorrect on the last twice occasion ie injury and on loan to Fev !!

Give it a rest he has been dropped !!!!!
I think either the pressure of managing Chelsea or the sun has got to you.
Why don't you go have a lay down in a darkened room.

But why? Was that not what agar was doing, fitting a player in for the sake of it, the 2 teams Webster has picked have had balance so why unbalance it to fit in a player who is currently living off reputation. Also we know smith/Sykes works most of the time.

He has some fantastic skill and pace which he has proven over the last few years elsewhere and it's great that he is wearing the red white and blue. Hope we can fit him in the 17 when Webster decides the time is ready.'"
Again what pace and skill - I know he's got it or had it but i haven't seen it with us even if you have. Let's be clear about this Aussie players have far more pressure and expectation on their shoulders and rightly so. They are highly paid and take British players jobs which is fine but they must deliver - no excuses in their case - that's the price they pay. And I don't care how bad the team has been he has nowhere near justified his place at the club (as an import). So thanks but I will bag him because he has been poor, should he be fortunate enough to get another chance to play for this great club I hope he proves me wrong.

Of course he could but, why would Webster do that when Sykes and Smith are going so well in the halves.
It's a no brainer.
In the same way that it was wrong to move half the team around to accommodate Seyjka, it would be wrong to "find a spot" for Sammut, just so that he is in the ream.
IF he is the best choice for any position, then play him there but, if not, don't select him, similar to putting Mathers on the wing, which was also a poor decision, by Agar.
Let's cut Webster some slack.
Sunday was the first time since the London away fixture, that we looked like a half decent SL team.

| Am I missing something?
Where does it say officially Sammutt has gone to Fev on loan?

| I honestly don't know why the club should make any statement about Jarrod Sammutt until there is something concrete to report. A player not being selected doesn't need a press release.
With the team winning two games it is difficult to get back into contention unless someone gets injured or plays woeful. I have been there myself. It's gutting to be fair & you do consider yourself unlucky. You just have to bide your time & show patience, good attitude & work ethic in training. Without an A Team in Rugby League which I think is scandalous players have to keep fit somehow. If Jaz does go on duel reg then that's more to do with rugby leagues structures than any ill treatment, conspiracy theories or fall outs!!
Jarrod tweeted a nice tweet in support of the win against Wigan and in support of his team mates!! He hasn't set the team on fire, he does have natural talent & an abundance of skill and still has plenty to offer.
If Jarod does go play duel reg and then does force his way back into our side I'd be extremely pleased. It sets a tremendous precedent to all the team!
I just wish people wouldn't make up things or look for negativity. There's enough everywhere you look without attempting to engineer more.....

He's shown a lot more at full back than Mathers IMO (last game aside)

| Sammut left Bradford for reasons other than a desire to play for Trinity but to ensure his own financial future. Hard to blame him, given that his entire UK career has been dogged by financial issues of his employer. But did he bring any desire with him? As far as I can see, no.
Personally, I think he has X-factor which is best used at full back, as he has anonymous days too, the impact of which is felt less keenly when he isn't a half-back. But nothing he has done in a Wakefield shirt merits his inclusion, and if there are other issues surrounding Webster's preference for not playing him, then all power to JW's elbow.

| Under Agar the team did not have any structure in either defence or attack and there was no leadership or drive on the pitch. there was zero organisation. A happy Mathers at full back brings organisation and leadership. He also manages the players infront of him so that we keep our structure. He chimes into the line perfectly because he understands what Tim Smith is doing, he makes sure we stick to the game plan. Sammut has many many qualities as a RL player but as yet I would say that organisation, leadership etc are not at the top of his skills list. The team needed the skill set that Mathers has because under Agar these qualities have been allowed to dwindle.

Couldn't have put it better myself Mick.
If he does go out on dual reg then so be it.
If he comes back with a better attitude & wanting to play for WTW then even better!
Now........who fancies a 7 game winning streak??!!!!
