| Didn't he pass it to Riley who dropped it first half for a likely try after Lynne broke away? Atkins isn't a great passer of the ball and look at him now.
Either way they are all great players in my eyes today and deserve praise for that determined display. WTID.

Sammut is our highest try scorer and i imagine he is also up there in clean breaks and assists yet he gets dropped at the first instance of a bad performance yet Mathers gets away with being a massive girl week in week out in defence. I've watched Mathers step out of challenges at least twice this season and generally being garbage. His one-on-one against St Helens where he actually moved out of the way and the "attempt" on Carney being highlights.
I feel sorry for Sammut personally and think he is being treated unfairly, especially as he has been played out of position - james webster should know this. There is half of that team who have been worse than Sammut by far. Nick Scruton and Mathers just for starters.'"
Still reeks of pap does it, you really are the best he he

Because he was an agar signing and apparently keeps a wakey youngster out - not sure which one but hey...

I have been to probably half your home games this year and whilst I accept he makes the odd mistake he cintributes far more to make up for it. In my opinion he is one of your best players.
Just my opinion though which obviously is subjective and entirely my own.

Fair enough - not one upping you at all but I am a season ticket holder and been to all the games bar one. He played very well today - but my opinion subjective as it is was that he has been consistently poor

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "I thought we'd done away with the political team selections with the change in coach. If Sammut is fit then sadly we haven't. To make matters worse Lyne has been selected. It's a shame he recovered from his toe injury.'"
Whilst I have toasted Lyne on here before, I would have to say that I didn't see him put a foot wrong today and he had an outstanding game. I even heard myself shout well played Reece...so I have had a good lie down tonight. Many more performances like that and I'll be getting the humble pie stand out. One of his main faults has been jumping out of the line and not keeping cool under pressure. I watched a couple of moments today and all I could think is someone who knows what they are doing has been coaching that lad lately cos he appears to have learned. Hope its not a flash in the pan co I like to be proved wrong and he is very fast and hard to tackle. If he stops the defensive nightmares he would be a good player

Lucas Walshaw isn't exactly accomplished at putting his winger away either...

I have been a fully paid up Lyne to Batley man but he played very well today and as someone else said, I honestly did not think he had a game like that in him. I have my opinions but all I want is us to go well and if he comes good I couldn't give a damn about my opinions

Did I menton Walshaw in my post?
Anyway it was constructive criticism even though no one would read it. He is still young (so is Walshaw) I guess when Collis is back he'll show them how it is done.

| Quote: vastman "Still reeks of pap does it, you really are the best he he'" Does anyone know what is actually happening with Sammut? He has not had a fair go for me. But the return of Smith really does create an imbalance in the squad. However, great though Smith played today and against London, my knowledge of his in/out form leads me to believe Sammut should be kept firmly in the camp if we can afford it..what with our 4079 attendances

I wasn't having a go - just making an observation that young centres perhaps learn the art of feeding their winger with time and confidence.
I've bagged Lyne plenty in the past - if this is the beginning of his rebirth, I'm all for it; he certainly has all the physical attributes to be a good player.

I said him being dropped and others not being dropped when they've been worse reeks of pap. Which it does. Just because we won doesn't mean others haven't been worse in other game this season. Crap reply. Which you probably knew in the first place anyways.

| I though Lynne had an excellent game, he was awesome in defence and made some good runs in attack, he ran round Goulding? at one point and put Riley away but he unfortunately dropped the ball.

| Cannot see the link between the two players' in this thread or the negative attitude against them for that matter, Lynne has been out for some time injured so why does he cop for abuse, he does not set the game alight fair enough but he does not let us down either especially playing in a position which is not his own, he'll never be a centre while he has a hole in his bottom he is an out an out winger with plenty of pace which he does not get too much chance to show, you have only to compare him with Collis to see my point playing him at centre. For me Sammutt came to us just before we started with the injuries which was the onset of our decline and we started playing poorly and has not had the best of starts, having said that we have not had anybody pulling any tree's up anyway but along with Mathers those two seemed to have been singled out the most among the other players' despite both playing out of position. I don't pretend to know what the problem is with Sammutt whether it be an attitude thing or Webster does not rate him, all I know is that after yesterday's performance the only way he looks like he will get a game is through injuries', perhaps a bit of encouragement for all the players' and not just peoples' favourites on here would not go amiss instead of the unwanted and needless abuse and negativity. Just think another couple of wins and good performances' to match from our next three home games and we might all be singing from the same song sheet, nah the wins' might come the other bit I think there will be more chance If I spend another quid and pick an extra 6 numbers for Saturday.
