Nail on the head TRB

Wakefield a team playing to less than the sum of its parts.

Suggests the problem is with the coach.

For me the biggest issue is your fitness. At the end of both halves you wilted massively. Mid season that will be very had to address.

That is obvious to most people. I wonder if its obvious to Agar , after all the conditioner is answerable to him.
If Agar isn't happy with fitness levels you would assume he would ask the conditioner to change things or change
the conditioner

Thing is that's not the only problem has anyone noticed how many hamstring injuries we've had this season?

Fitness only becomes an issue because we constantly put ourselves under pressure with dumb mistakes and increase the amount of tackling we have to do. Most of our players show remarkable lack of basic tackling skill.- going high ans getting bumbled off so someone else has to come and make another tackle or three or four players failing to stop the offload so yet another tackle has to be made (unless the opposition score which happened several times yesterday). Honestly - if they just tackled properly they'd be a half decent team.

Quote: PopTart "There was a definite improvement today and a big improvement after half time.
Which of the errors was Agar at fault for?'"

Seriously? Do you stand at the game with your eyes closed? Your constant burying of your head in the sand is the only ridiculous thing about this thread. Agar is responsible for the players performances and those performances are way below what they are capable of, the buck stops with him. The constant playing of people out of position has destroyed their belief and it stands out mile that he has lost the dressing room. Thats nearly 200 points conceded in 4 games and another battering awaits on monday. We have no structure, no desire, no fight, no clue. Defeat on monday should see him gone and it can't come soon enough.

Exactly. That 'performance' yesterday was for the Adam Watene trophy. It was a shameful effort. It is time for change.

Richard is a well educated, articulate man who knows the game inside out... He is both eloquent and erudite in his knowledge, he carries excellent qualifications and is well liked in all quarts of the game. I imagine him to be a phenomenal performer at interview, and would trust his opinion on the game without question.

Unfortunately .... He can't coach!

I have my fingers in my ears too so I can't hear you....in an online type of way Lol.

I think we''ll turn it around. It won't be over night.
I'm not in control of the Agar side and he might go but I think the issue is clouded by those that just jump on the anti Agar easy option band wagon.

Its ok for you Pop Tart you are in a minority at the moment the rest of us just see it going one way and are down at heart. As it looks with Agar at the moment Harrys come over and he will play as soon as can be instead of wait your turn.Washbrook looks a spent force then gets injured and then comes straight back in after 3 good games without him and he still looks spent.Lyne though been good going forward has been rubbish feeding his wing man and in defence. Then add the positional changes Agar has made and the same old story after each game lost and it all looks as though he aint a clue of how to fix things even if some of those changes were because of lack of form and if some were for lack of form why pick Washbrook or injurys to players.Me personally I said from the off I would give Agar a chance but that only lasts so long when you look back and right from the word go our defence has been poor even in the games we have one we have let some real soft scores in against us and that's for the last 2 seasons so nothing in defence has changed.Alas for me its time for him to go and look for another coach one that will instil pride and fight by the bucket load.As to the question who then wasn't that a question when we have parted with coaches before.

I forgot the most pertinent one - Shane McNally.

Shane did well by us and got us our first play-off games, but the following season he seemed to be over-thinking things and it all got away from him. Despite his tremendous efforts, the board at the time felt that we needed to rake action and we brought Tony Smith into the hot-seat. Now Tony wasn't great, but him coming in won us 3 games we probably wouldn't have. How good would 3 wins look now?

Given that taking into account last season as well we have only won 3 out of our last 16 games it would look great.

Well now, this proves my point perfectly.

I quite liked McNally but as you say things started going wrong and we pushed him out and gave it to Smith.
I can't remember the 3 games but Smith turned out to be the worst coach we've ever had. Certainly the performance on the field implied that.
A poor run does not mean we should just hop across to anyone else just because we don't like Agar.

My points about jumping on the bandwagon I may be able to explain like this.
When you do maths at school, you won't get top marks by just giving an answer even if sometimes right.
You have to show your workings.

Workings for these threads are not logical in my mind.
Every coach we've ever had has been beaten by the top sides at some stage. Heavily too.

It's topical to say Agar has been rubbish forever but he hasn't. We've had good form under him.
Those that want Agar out would say our top 8 finish was down to players not Agar. Ellis in particular.
But when form goes it is him.

I'm not that impressed with Washbrook but some are now saying his tackle count is only high because he is 3rd man in. Apart from the fact it plainly isn't true, we could do with a few more 3rd men in the tackle.

It goes on for many examples but although Agar may be passed his sell by now, partly because the fans won't accept him, I haven't seen a good enough reason to swing the axe.....apart from bad results, and there are multiple reasons for that at the moment.

I have to agree with Tryscorer that he has been clear of his feelings from the start.

If it turns out Agar has to go then so be it but I hope MC and KH get a good replacement rather than just taking what's available.
