| i cringed the other day when someone posted a 3/3 thread on here and i cringe at this thread too. who cares which team builds a ground first? plus a few letters have been sent round, a heck of a journey to go yet. i am of the opinion that we need a new ground. we could get relegated next year and rfl may change criteria for teams who get promoted that they need better stadiums...

| With franchising no longer happening, is it worth clubs spending millions on new stadiums?

Yes. The benefits of having fantastic corporate facilities, up to date facilities for spectators and the ability to not be embarrassed when courting prospective new sponsors can't be underestimated. The money generated (potentially) could see the club thrive for another 60 years. Good times have been had at BellView but it's time to make some new memories.

I agree with what you are saying and I am sure every club would love a new stadium but my point is that without franchising there is no longer the rush so there is no need for clubs to push their finances in order to get a new stadium.
I would love to see us at Newmarket and It would be nice not to have to go the Wheldon Road anymore but my point is that there is no rush and a shiny stadium is no longer the necessity it was perceived to be 3 or 4 years ago.

From a franchise POV there is no rush, but from a sustainable business POV, maximising its assetts in order to grow the business and therefore improve the future of the club both on and off the field it is still a massive priority.
We really do need to see some progress on this in the near future.
Regular updates from all parties would be ideal, even if it is just to reinforce where we are if there is nothing new to report. NM is in danger of being forgotten by the public and while i appreciate there is little the wider public can do about pushing it on, if it is gone from public perception is there the need or desire to keep it moving forward by all those involved as we need it to be?
I'm sure these projects, seemingly nailed on get shelved all the time, the longer they go on as sometimes requirements, legislation etc change.
I am not privy to what goes on, but to me at times this seems almost dormant.

| If we want to compete monetary wise so being able to invest properly in both juniors and 1st team. Getting a new facility is a reality and the quicker it happens the better. What I'm saying is that just because we can relax about the stadium, we shouldn't. Just like just because we can have a stupid amount of over seas players doesn't mean we have to fill each spot.

We have competition for places now as our resident 'reasonable Cas fan'. Will this improve quality?

| Cas Tigers have been unbelievably silent on the matter, unlike the Glasshoughton project with Richard Wright donning Hi-vis and Helmet for the camera's.
This makes me think we are waiting for the finances to be sorted this time without getting anyone over exited then the announcment will happen.
