| Quote: Tommy Duckfingers "I've no idea what standard he is likely to play at for us. Never seen him play I don't think - and I would hazard a guess that the overwhelming majority of posters if they have seen him haven't taken any notice of him. Yes the CV is impressive on paper but lets not forget that Poore played SOO in recent memory and Steve Southern looked good in theory......
I hope he comes good, I really do. I love seeing raw boned bruising props play for us (nothing like a barnstorming carry or a big hit to get the adrenaline of the team and fans up), but I will leave the salivating to others at this stage.
As ever though an NRL club on his record (no matter how long ago it was) and an ozzie accent will buy him immunity. We're supposed to be skint and yet we have enough money to fly this geezer (and maybe his family) half way round the world and back again. I would have hoped that we had learned a lesson in the past.
Good luck to the lad, let's hope he captures the form that saw him play at that level. He will get my full support.'"
Can't guarantee anything but as you say looks good in theory - which (and this is my point) is way better than I was expecting.

| I have trust in MC that we wont spend more than we can afford. He got us out of this crap and it took a lot of hard work I really can't see him just giving up and letting all that hard work go for nothing.

The NRL is awash with good quality players who just can't get a first grade gig because of the sheer number over there. Guys like Anderson will do a good job for us and use us to put himself in the shop window. He won't be costing a fortune to do that I shouldn't imagine.

Not to disrespect Poore but this quote sums up why, if Anderson stays fit, Poore may not be missed.
Looking forward to the match up!

| You don't get to play 60 odd games of NRL for quality clubs like Melbourne and Brisbane, including 2 GF's, without being good.
Welcome Scott.
All we need now is Virgil, Brains, Lady Penelope....... 5,4,3,2,1....

| I hope he comes strong and fit.
Looking at his stats he has only played 15 NRL games for Broncos in last 2 years... 11 in 2013 and only 4 in 2012. Played 19 games in 2011 which is the highest of his 7 seasons, 79 games in total.
Watched second half of 2009 NRL Final and he played a solid 20 mins doing some good runs although got battered by Moi moi on one run. In that game his left hamstring was heavily strapped playing with socks rolled down (Number 17).
Good luck to him those strong runs will be needed in Super League for over 20 games at least

He's never scored a first grade try. Maybe he has just got a thing for the end of season naked run!

| I think try scoring ability comes well down the list when looking for qualities in a prop.

| Bearing in mind the player he is replacing only scored 1 try anyway, it's hardly a massive issue.
Poore also gave away the second highest amount of penalties in the entire league last year (only beaten by Ben Westwood) so if Anderson can do the hard yards and not give away the same number of penalties I'd see it as a huge bonus.

| A prop should not be judged on the amount of try's he scored in 1 2 3 or 4 seasons.
Having played prop - I was hardly a prolific try scorer, but I still consider that I made a contributuion to any team I played for - I did the hard dirty work and laid a platform for the backs - Simples

| Clearly it's his fitness that will be the issue playing week in week out in Super League against top quality props like Peacock, Masoe and Poore rather than scoring tries.
Do the hard yards and tackles in the middle throughout the season that's all that is asked. He looks a tall rangy prop albeit a bit heavier than Raleigh.
Can't see his fitness being the issue like it was with Hickey who had an obesity problem and was an embarrassment to professional rugby league. I'm sure this signing and the Dan Smith one was made sometime ago by a very astute Richard Agar in person down under so will have made an assessment. Hopefully the half back issue was resolved at the same time and the delay is deliberate
