the above sums up my feelings. i have bought a ticket and i am a member of the lottery etc, but my interest and drive ends there. i have supported the club through thin and thin and had some good times on the way, but i am just about at the end of my patience.
i have lost interest in anything else the club does outside of match days and have developed other interests.
i know i am not alone in this, and i have more patience than many, but i am just not up for the fight this time.

| Don't think MC can make it any clearer or honest.
We have sold 2 players.
We have a decent group of players at the moment. The Tuson money may bring in another 3 players.
Buying tickets for Christmas maybe too late.
If they are Christmas presents, what's stopping people buying them now?
13 home games for £150. Whether it's Championship standard or struggling Super League, it's still good value.
I get dicked off like everyone else when Trin lose and perform badly.
The times i've said i'm not going next week if they play that bad. But by the time the middle of the week comes round, the positives out of the previous performance have come to the fore and looking forward to the next game. False dawns, broken promises, players coming, players not, players leaving, it's all part of the show that is Trin.
I would rather have my back to the wall fighting as the massive underdog in Super League rather than turning up expecting to win more than we lose in the Championship.

Like many on here I dug deep without question many times in the past and will probably continue to do so.
However you have to realise that people out there who attend games do not feel the same as we do. They do it for enjoyment and entertainment. When they stop getting that, they find something else to do. Its no good calling them disloyal or bad supporters they are just normal people who don't quite have the same level of passion as some of us.
We need those people on board and to do that we need to give them a reason to buy their tickets. Blackmailing them with threats of the team going bust will have the opposite effect. It will scare them off and they won't part with their cash. We need some positive stuff from the BOD to give them a reason for wanting to buy and we are not getting that at the moment.'"
Tell me what positive stuff you'd like to hear?

I think the point he is making is that you may be preaching to the converted on here?
Perhaps some positive news regarding what is being done to engage the missing supporters/ ST holders? , or what is being done to squeeze more out of sponsors etc.

Good post, exactly how I feel myself. The big problem now is the raised expectations of the fans. After years of struggle it looked like finally there was light at the end of the tunnel. After the meeting at Cedar Court, the franchise success and the promises from Glover and Elston that we would build a team over a few years that would challenge the top rather than bottom, to end up back to where we were at the start of 2011 is what a lot of people find hard to stomach. Although for now the squad looks competitive on paper and pledges of key players to stay and fight next season the reality is it simply is not in their hands.
With hindsight without the threat of relegation during the franchise period we should have slowly rebuilt ourselves rather than throw daft money and lengthy contracts on any player who was on the market and therefore have the full cap now we desperately need it. Steve Ferres when he was Castleford CEO was laughed at when he said that cheap/half price season tickets were the road to ruin but he has been proved right just looking at Bradford and now ourselves.
Most Wakefield teams over the last 25 years i've been going have obviously been made up of cast offs, old pros and up and coming players with a backs to the wall mentality, which the club, fans and players have thrived on. However as I said with the expectations being raised over the last two years now it's a lot more difficult for a lot of fans to buy back into it.

| Exactly how I feel. I have been a fan for over 20 years and a long standing season ticket holder and subscribed to the lottery at the initial launch but I'm sick to death of the false dawns and mismanagement. I relies that the club need my money more than ever but I would like to know that the players will not be sold and the squad will be of a competitive nature. When will this sleeping giant awaken? I don't have the answer but my apathetic tone is a worry because WRLFC is in my blood and a lot of fans feel the same.

'I'm sick to death of the false dawns and mismanagement' - what has that got to do with the current owners?
' I would like to know that the players will not be sold and the squad will be of a competitive nature. When will this sleeping giant awaken?' - how can that be guaranteed in any club, let alone ours?
I feel that WT is now in the blood of MC and CB

Lets start with this.
The BOD have now stabilised the situation financially. We have a business plan and budget in place so we can now move forward on a sustainable basis. We accept we have had to sell players but that has now finished and we will not be forced to sell anymore. If players are to leave they will go as part of our team building and only if the deal increases the overall strength of the squad.
What you need to do is draw a line. Say we have reached the bottom, things are sorted and we can now move onwards and upwards from here. Kill off all the strong rumours that we can't get enough to pay the wages at the end of October and that Poore and Aiton look like the next to go to get a few quid. All you have been giving out is negative information. I accept its the truth and it has needed saying. But it is up to you and the rest of the BOD to drive things forward now and you need to start to give out some positives.

If its possible i would be inclined to agree that this would be the positive we need to see from the club.
Not knowing the facts i can understand it may not be that simple, but if its at all possible can we go down this road.
Even the hardcore are struggling to remain positive about next season.

That doesn't help anyone.

| I would like to hear that although we are short of money the directors have decided that it makes no sense to sell players to pay wages. The directors value that over 1500 fans have paid for next years season tickets when they will not see a game for 5 months ago, with this in mind the directors will cover the wages shortfall from their own pockets, will continue to use several of their houses as security as they own many properties and that the directors have written off their loans to the club in full as they realise that actualy putting money into a RL club is a gift with no chance of getting a penny back. These actions will safeguard the future of the club, greatly improve the balance sheet and mean that the directors will go down in history as saving the club. Not alot to ask.

Well we've been fed it for years so why stop now.
Of course they shouldn't be saying whats not true, i doubt anyone wants to hear that.
And if the positions not changed we won't get any more positve news, the worry is the lack of season tickets sales once the hardcore have lumped in, we need to remember that those at the meeting and most on here are already in for next season.
The hard part is still to be done and MC/CB have to convince those people.
A rock and a hard place for sure but the longer it goes on the worse it will get, maybe thats how it going to be.

I fully accept what you are saying.
However things are not sorted. We are still under massive financial pressure. We have a business plan in place if we can get to the starting line which is exactly what I said originally. The bod are doing everything they can to drive things forward. Sponsors aren't exactly falling over themselves to get involved. The business world is having just as hard a time as we are.
Positive news. Academy up and running. Catering and bar sales back in house. Talks with 3 breweries this week. Stadium? For me it's still at least 2/3 seasons off although I've still only had limited dealings with it so far. We are currently trying to source new players and have quite a few offers on the table.
Draw a line? I'm not sure I can yet
