Doubt would have been sacked as would have to have taken more than just damage to club to be dismissed. As Daddycool alluded to in the meeting he's been in cases before and you never usually win if staff decide to go for unfair dismissal.

I think I have answered my own question here but it probbably has something to do with him becoming a director of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats LTD last week. But all the same it does seem very odd him resigning after doing this, all seems very strange to me.

| Thank you James and good luck for the future. Maybe if half the supporters had half the passion for the club you have shown in recent years we would be able to sell season tickets at full price.
Lets see what Uncle Kath can offer under the direction of Red Hall. (Consultant CEO)

| I like many others now look forward to the investment suggested by some on this forum would follow Elston leaving the club. I just hope I am still young enough to appreciate the additional investment some of you have promised.

I wish him well as he like any other guy or person has a family to support as well as his own needs.'"
Agree, always seemed a nice guy to talk to and wish him well whatever he does next.
Ateotd I think because he was the guy that got Andrew Glover to take a chance and buy the club. He gave Elston a bit too much responsibility and free reign & put far too much faith in his business skills. Putting him in charge of a Club that is historically very difficult to run and one he already had history with.

Ahh, but Glover "saved us" so that's ok. Saved us from the same thing happening again 2 years later. Both have to share the blame, but you're right, one has got far more than the other, and I speak from a position of being glad he is no longer employed by the club. (But then, you already knew that...)
I'm not bothered how much of a nice bloke he is, it's business. If he's not up to it, he goes. He's lasted longer than Robbie Paul will at Bradford, and if he's so "talented" as we're told, Elston will be employed sooner rather than later.

As I understand it we are not in the same boat we were in when he saved us.
We would have lost the club without him. We are now short of money but not in Admin.

As i understand it we have more debt now than last time around.
Admin, well that may have something to do with the RFL.

| We probably do have more debt but a lot of it is directors loans which they have have said there is an agreement not to call in.

| I think we have been through this before the debt was 2.2m made up of 1.6m in director's loans (including Glover). These they have agreed not to call in because if they did the club would fold and they would lose their money anyway. £200,000 was a loan from RFL to pay the HMRC, the repayment for which we have agreed will come from our share of Sky money. This leaves £400,000 which I presume we have reduced with monies received.
It is therefore well within the power of Glover to have closed us down if he had wanted to however, I believe he agreed to not call them in.
