I guess some are just not happy unless they are moaning

First of all I'm pretty sure the decisions being discussed are not all Davide's and I'd be surprised if any were solely his.

I stood behind the sticks on the lower level. First time I've done it, but as we were being moved around I gave it a go. Was a good view.
The North stand sounds great when you are in front of it too. Can see why it lifts the players.
When I turned around, there seemed to be plenty of space. The ones moaning about Health and Safety weren't where I was. No H&S employee would have blinked at that. (It isn't a night club so comparing the North Stand to that is a bit ridiculous)

We earned a lot of money tonight through having a big crowd. A big part of that is the Leeds crowd so making sure they are safe and in good space is equally as important as doing the same for us.
I think it worked perfectly well from my point of view.

Quote: imwakefieldtillidie "Sadly, I agree with everything you say. If the club had actively dealt with the troublemakers to be begin with, rather than simply moving them around the ground, we wouldn't be left with this ridiculous segregation policy. A policy which rewards away fans with the best view in the ground!

I went to the game tonight with both my parents. We weren't allowed to stand with my sister, her husband and their son because they are Leeds fans. We weren't even allowed down the side of the pitch at 6.30 to watch my nephew play because we had Wakefield badges on. We could, if we wanted, stand down the East terrace and watch other people's kids play, but not my sisters on the Western side. With that in mind, I would challenge anyone who says Rugby League is a family sport.

Unfortunately it has cost the club three season tickets next year.'"

I agree with all this. My only gripe was 2 bars running out of beer before half time.
Loss of quite a bit of much needed cash there.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could blame the club or anyone person employed by the club. The problem lies with the fact that we have a number of fans who are not fit for society. They are part of this ever increasing underclass with low moral standards and not a care in the world for how their actions impact on other peoples lives. Of course we need segregation. I sit in the stand and there is no problem with away fans as people who use the stand are well behaved, well mannered and understanding of another persons point of view. I was at the Widnes game and our fans who got involved in the trouble were pathetic, oh dear that man called me a nasty name so I am going to punch him ! There were also a number of our idiot fans who were standing in the North stand who when the trouble started moved towards the trouble as they wanted to get involved. As a result of the behaviour of our fans it is obvious that the club had to segregate the standing area and think its about time to. I would not sell tickets to Wakefield fans unless they had passed an interview to confirm that they are fit for socierty and I would not sell beer in the standing areas. Beer should only be sold to people who are sitting in the stand or who are booked into the Benidorm flats as as far as I can see they are the only fans who can be trusted to drink responsibly

Tried getting a beer before kick off from that shed thing at the top of north stand and they were sold out and shut up shop. Tried getting a beer from that metal tin on the terrace infront of the stand 5 minutes before half time, that was also closed. The club must have missed out on some right coin last night. Maybe it was a good thing though given the events at the widnes game.

If it was an exercise in limiting the amount of ale consumed then why for heavens sake did they not have bottles of shandy available. As swmbo said "a very warm night and it would have been nice to at least get a shandy when the ale ran out" the club would have pulled even more money in.

eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif ...well said Poptart...guess I was stood somewhere near you, and yes it was a bit cramped, but, with me being 6ft4, it wasn't a problem for me personally, and even for the more vertically-challenged folk stood around us (SWMBO is only 5ft), there were no complaints. It all helped create a cracking atmosphere.

As for the folk complaining about the lack of beer, it's a double-edged sword...yes, beer sales bring much needed income into the club, but the obvious pay-off is the likes of what we saw at the Widnes game...numptys who can't handle their beer. I am sure that the club would rather lose a few HUNDRED pounds in beer sales than have to pay a several THOUSAND pound fine to the RFL for failing to control drunken mindless morons !!!!!
To some of us, alcohol is a pleasant way of socialising and chilling out at the end of the day, to others it is a compulsory way of life. I have been going to Belle Vue for around 40 of my 48 years to watch a game of rugby, and have yet to have a beer at a game. Granted I drive to the ground...but as I said, I go to watch rugby, not have a drink. I can do that when I get home, if I want to. I accept that some people want to do both, and I don't have a problem with that at all, but surely it is hardly good reason to start burning your season tickets, just because the club ran out of beer, during our best attended game in years....SOME PEOPLE NEED A REALITY CHECK !!!!
If you want to drink beer, go to the pub.....if you want to watch a game of rugby, come to Belle Vue.

Harsh to start calling for a man's job - the situation looked to have been well-managed from my vantage point and the lack of bother would suggest that overall, the segregation worked.

Great attendance, fantastic atmosphere and the team ran the champions very close in a hard-fought game - what's to complain about?

My comparison with a night club was in light of all the stair wells (exits) being blocked. You clearly have no idea of the concept of access and egress when it comes down to the duty of care for persons or employees on your property. All means of access and exits must be kept clear.

Ran out of BEER!
Beer and a game of rugby go hand in hand for me.
We need the £ and to lose the revenue from beer sales at our most profitable home fixture is laughable!
We were expecting a 5 figure crowd all week?
So who ever orders the beer should be disciplined!
Opportunity missed!
Will just have to sell more ST!!
On the matter of H+S?
The location of the beer sheds for home supporters is an issue!
Located high at the back of north stand with no way to que and getting in other people's way.
The burger bar by Doncaster road turnstiles causes a bottle neck on a thoroughfare making accessing the male toilets difficult. And the steps down to the east pen dangerous!

if H/S had there way this country would come to a stand still, it amazes me how they turn their back on more serious issues just to implement another

but you are right in that walk ways and exits are detrimental in an emergency
