| Has anyone ever seen figures relating to how much various players get paid??? I've always wondered what the averages are per SL team.

I recall the first "evening with" Richard agar when he came to the club, at which he discussed this topic in more detail than you would expect. He said that most clubs senior players would be on 100k or more per season, and that all other clubs in SL had numerous amounts of these senior players (obviously the big teams had more than the smaller ones). At that time ,the beginning of last season we had no one earning more than 100k, I understand that that has now changed.
How many we now have though I have no idea.

Fringe players outside the 19 I'd have thought would be closer to 40k from previous forums I've read but again a guess and based on rumour.

I'd be amazed. I know some of the Cas deals. And some of our more solid players aren't on that.

Although see this....
The salary cap for English Super League teams is £1.8 million pounds per year. Although this number is the maximum amount that can be spent on players salaries, many of the clubs in the Super League don't make enough revenue to pay their players this amount. For instance I believe the Salford City Reds pay their players around £1.3 million pounds per year.
If you take Wigan Warriors for example they garner big enough crowds and make a great deal from merchandising, as well as having a very rich chairman so that they can pay up to the £1.8 million limit (in fact last season they payed over this amount to their players and have been docked two points from the league, and have also been fined).
If Wigan have twenty five playing personnel and they pay the maximum of the salary cap then the average amount is £72,000 per player per year.
The most important players in a squad are obviously payed the most. I imagine that Kevin Sinfield and Danny McGuire of the Leeds Rhinos are payed more than £200,000 each. Also the Super League clubs pay foreign players (mainly Australians and New Zealanders) more on average than the British players get.
In the English Super League there is a rule/law that states that each club cannot pay more than £20,000 each on more than twenty players (the 20/20 rule), therefore many of the younger members of the squad will each either get this amount (£20,000), or under this amount.

Nope, he's got, or had 90 days notice to improve or his contract is terminated!

Yes it is, and that speaks volumes about the validity of any of the (let's be generous) speculation which has followed. Still I suppose you guys need something to chat about when you risk a ban for daring to discuss your own club's (factual) problems. La la la not listening...!
Read again. IT CAME FROM A PLAYERS DAD,

This sounds more to me like Chinese Whispers. I would guess it goes something like.
Player has been told he is not being renewed because his performance is not what is expected. He tells his Dad. Dad tells the whole world his son has been sacked. Maybe with a few expletives included'"
Simon, no Chinese whispers here, 90 days notice to improve or contract cancelled, simple!

Incorrect, From what I was told, By a Rhino's player - Sinfield is only on 100k a year, And has a load of bonuses attached. And thats the same with the whole squad.

I often feel that Rugby League players get a bit of a bum deal. A SL career would only last what, a maximum of 15 years? What then? I'd hate the thought of having to retrain now at my age (34) and £40k per year over that time wouldn't set you up for life!

If you compare it to football then yes, it's a bum deal. At the same time, it's a nice way to spend your 20s and early 30s compared to what most people have to put up with, and you have a lot more free time for your £40k or so per year than others - time that you could invest in planning for an alternative career/profession in the future, if you wanted to. There seem to be quite a few opportunities in the health/nutrition sector, for example (you could even get a qualification in this at Wakefield). So whilst it won't set you up for life, if you're one of the fringe players at the top of the game, it certainly gives you the time and the chance to develop other skills/explore other options.
Obviously, if your contract is terminated within the space of 3 months, then you're between a rock and a hard place, unless you've already made other arrangements.

Of course it did. I think you should tell us which one and then we can ban him from the Cas board for potentially saying things that jeopardise the club....
Funny really. I just got back from a meeting with Steve Gill tonight, at which he mentioned he'd been reading tweets about this "rumour". He wondered how such rubbish got propagated ... Maybe you should give him a bell to explain. He's quite approachable.
Still. I'd rather believe you than him, obviously.

Bonuses are part of the salary capayne that's why they stopped winning so many games, he also gets paid from Leeds RU as a "kicking consultant".
