Well no doubt at the time it was difficult for him and the club to attract players, not really digging at James, just trying to even up the debate with NGBC.

I thought when Elston was signing players, that John Kear had left, Andrew Glover had come in and we were waiting for the new coach to be put in place.

| only managed to catch up with the game last night and thought he played pretty well for his debut with Penrith, he threw a couple of good cut-out passes and tackled well, reasonable kicking games as well. Good luck to him.
Also to a previous poster, how can you not like someone based upon the size of their contract? Seems a really stupid/unrealistic stance to me.

As ever you don't have a clue do you. Under Richardson Elston had nothing to do with the team as such other than I think he was part of the football committee that occasionally met with the Coaching staff It wasn't in his job description as he wasn't part of the coaching set up or involved in player recruitment, nor was Ted.
Only when Ted left and AG was finding his feet did Elston get involved.
All the players signed under Kear were signed by him YOUR BIG HERO. Your really do shoot yourself in the foot at times.

| cant let this tread slip away without answering pockets 4s comments i presumed aimed at me because of my comment about not being a issac lover because of his reputed big contract ,surely anyone can read between the lines in my comment, of course i dont dislike issac personly because he was on big money, it was the fact that he played most of his rugby with our under 20s in my opinion that was not value for money, i hope you also noted that in my post i praised his performance for penrith, dont mind taking flack for my posts but lets get the facts right

Yes he had a very good game indeed. I guess it just didn't work out here, sometimes that happens and I hope he keeps playing like he has been!

I think if Isaac was here just for the so called big money that he was suppose to be on he wouldn't of left us so easily, unless he really wanted to play league; and he didn't have that opportunity with us, which meant he was only playing in the under 20's. Coaches choice. He nearly didn't play for a year over here, so he hasn't done too bad over in Oz.
Two games in the NRL, two wins with a low rated team, and he is starting to show us what he is capable of.

| Thought he did ok in the first team but suffered because of the teams collective poor form. Sykes has been feeling the wrath this season for largely the same reason. It didn't work out so its good to hear he's doing well a step up from SL. As an aside I thought John was an Agar recruit.

Was that 3rd rater or 3 tries. SAD. Know you will say something you are always good for a laugh.

| This guy is outstanding, what a player. Would like him at Cas when Chase leaves. As if he's not been given more of a chance!

| When a decent player, who was already an international when he arrived with us, fails and looks very ordinary, then goes back to a better league and looks good again...it makes you wonder what was going on at the club where he failed, I'd say

He's a strange on is Isaac, maybe he never really settled or he never fitted in, who knows.
Glad he's playing well all the same.

| I know this is off topic but I have just watched Cronulla vs Canberra and Canberra had a young halfback called Anthony Milford, 18 years old, lightning fast with a good step. He had a very strong game and is out of contract next season, I've heard that we're looking for another halfback and it would be interesting to see if he's popped up on Agars radar.

He is signed till end 2014, and was not short of NRL offers on signing this deal in 2012.
