I think you could look at this in a number of ways really
are we preparing for the championship or wanting to better ourselves???
The heart says one the head says the other. Head wins.
The timing is terrible as we have a more winnable game this weekend compared to the last two (no offence to Widnes who are improving massively, much opposed to ourselves)
For Ian, I think its a bit harsh to look at the "7-1-30" record, since half way through last season he missed a month due to the hinderence of his son dying at 19....
This year, we started really well and were on the wrong end of a couple of really tight games.
After the 52-0 at Hull, and very little to show for the ecellent effort against the top teams at the start, it's only understandable for the guys to have had the wind kicked out of them.
Wakefield game - you guys were excellent in the first half. Although whenever we had the ball, it seemed one guy took a big knock every set, which meant we finished the game with 2 subs. As well as Darryl Clark being ill - he threw up on the 20 after you scored your second try. BUT adam milner wasn't even n the squad!!!!
Things have seemed to go against Ian since he took over, and bad performances have (ONLY) sometimes come off the back of bad luck.
That being said, progress isn't being made, and I think everyone is in agreement that the squad is underperforming - except Vasty who firmly believes we have the worst squad in the league. In which case I fully expect him to be completely against his sacking? ...Each to their own I guess.
