Is that about right? Worth checking like, because frankly, I think you've been a bit vague up to now.'"

Its a load of Rhubarb, thats for sure.

Moving back to the game.
I don't think that we are in for a thrashing.
Ok, Wigan are strong favourites and will probably take the 2 points.
However RA should be telling the players that Wigan think we are so poor that they can afford to rest half of their superstars and still turn us over.
Time for our senior players to stand up and show the mighty Wigan that they need a full strength team to beat us.

Come on Trin !

We have a real chance if we control our own game and therefore limit Wigans opportunities. Keep the errors and penalties down and restrict their time on the ball and hopefully drain their energy.

The downside is that we haven't seen much of us playing that way this year!

A good kicking game is essential to compete with teams like Wigan, sadly after Monday's debacle I can't see it happening. Agar needs to get Sykes kicking early in the tackle count and pin them down where they can't be any danger. We need to get back to basics and reduce the error count, then hope Wigan make handling mistakes so we can punish. Easier said than done but fingers crossed.

The only place Wigan can't be of any danger is in the changing rooms with the door locked from the outside!

Seriously we could land the ball on the angle between the touchline and the dead ball line and I still wouldn’t put it past them to score at the other end.

they are structurally and systematically the best team in the country and its those patterns that are so integral throughout their club that allow so many youngsters to seamlessly drop into the first team with little or no loss of quality.

Take out Tomkins, Charnley, O'Loughlin et al and theres a dip but a very tiny one, that said the margins between a heavy loss and win are bus ticket thin and if, IF we get on our game right from the off we can test them with that team of youngsters even on their own gound and with a bit of luck we could nick it.

Vasty - did you not get the -na na na I still say if we play as we did on Monday we will get a thumping. If we play to our best and get among them as we did at home last season for the first 20/25 mins then we can do it.We have to get among them and stop them getting going and frustrate them for the whole game but the way things have gone so far I cant see it happening.

Would like to think Tim Smith will have a big game, but only looks as good as the players running for him. Mathers is one who should be up for it as well. They should play tomorrow with no pressure on them as they are expected to lose.

I like the way Agar has talked up the game. Just express yourselves, you've nothing to lose. That has to be the right way. No point in in trying to outhink them or outmuscle them. Approach should be tough in defence and cavalier in attack, and you never know,

Every champion side loses unexpectedly. It's always the game where they take their eye off the ball. I'll be happy if the game is close and entertaining.

Sorry but i think this could be way out. I saw some stats about their win rate without him, and it was staggering (to me least). I can't remember what it was but I don't think it was top eight form. Certainly not too four anyway. Something like 4 wins from 11, but no idea where I saw it.

Classy Cas gave them a run for their money so there's hope for any team, admittedly they will need to spill the ball quite a bit but it's up to our pack to put them under pressure. If we roll over and do a Hull K.R. then I fear we will lose to all the top 8 candidates this season.

I think that Wigan are more than "top 8 candidates" and anything against them would be a HUGE bonus.
It's how we perform against the lower teams and those around us that will define the season and we
certainly need to improve on the poor form shown against Hull and Salford.
Although it was great to beat Cas, that isn't exactly a mark of progress, bearing in mind their current
state.

We have a quality side, one that CAN beat ANY side on its day. That day will come when you least expect it, when the opposition is expected to walk it, when they have a few players out or rested and when our side are at full strength and coming off the back of a dismal performance. eusa_think.gif
