Quote: kinleycat "Perhaps it was a conspiracy between the RFL and SL who are sick of you whining whinos and the drum fuelled forward shouting supporters?
I expect Sinfield to be fitted up in a news of the world type sting operation in the coming days.
The authorities asked us and we were happy to oblige - that said it could have been any other club, such is the rhinos popularity!!
The real story of course is we have been holding a beach party down at a possitively tropical BV!!
Chump!!!'"
Its the councils fault for not clearing the streets

If the pitch is deemed safe to play on, If the ground is deemed safe for supporters the match should go ahead.
I have been to the supermarket this morning that wasn't closed because they were afraid of people slipping on the pavement.
All shops in wakey city centre were open, no fear from them about people slipping on the pavement.
I walked out to the pub on Friday and sat night and they were open for business and the pavements outside were terrible.
If someone slipped on the way to the ground then its nothing to do with the club and even the best solicitor in the world would never make a claim stick.
Totally gutless decision to call it off in my opinion.

You need to contact the match comissioner and offer him you're views on this.

| I thought the match commissioner only had jurisdiction over the pitch? No mention was made of the match commissioner in the press release, only that the game was postponed due to the area surrounding the ground being deemed unsafe for spectators (because, let's face it, spectators are incapable of making a decision about safety themselves).
The game at Langtree Park went ahead on Friday night and the area surrounding the ground was like a skating rink with compressed packed snow and ice everywhere. Quite a few people slipped, even fell over. That's what happens when you walk on compressed snow and ice.
The match commissioner decided that the game was ok to go ahead at Langtree Park, and that was with the pitch covered in a few inches of snow to the degree that the stewards had to keep clearing the lines while the game was being played.

Totally agree with everything you say.
Especially frustrating when you see what the weather is like now. Haven't seen so much sun since last August!

| If the pitch was frozen then its a no brainer and should be cancelled although the decision was made very early when it is a local derby when most fans don't have to travel too far.
The attendance would not be near 10,000 as it will be hopefully when it is played in the next month or so with warmer weather.
The players will now be fresh for Cas and hopefully give them a good game next Friday unless it snows again?
There is also a break later of 2 weeks in both April and May where the game could hopefully be slotted in with players back by then like Tim Smith, Danny Kirmond and Andy Raleigh.

Seriously Al I may just do that.
If the ground and pitch are safe then thats all we have to worry about.
I have just been up Agbrigg Road and past the ground, its lovely and sunny
hardly any snow around roads moving freely and people just going about their business.
Club car park looked very clear and Donny road entrance totally clear.
The next thing you know we will be stopping night matchs because we will be afraid of people
going home in the dark after a game

That would suggest that at some point he actually had the plot.

I don't disagree with what you are saying, i wanted this on game today but i believe the club have done everything possible to make that happen.

| So I'm confused. Why are Sts, Cas and Huddersfield supporters so bothered about whether a Leeds v Wakefield game takes place?
Are we dragging them in from further a field than we thought?

Then i'm afraid the mc has not stuck to the agreed procedure and probably won't be doing the job much longer.
The clubs wanted to play but it was deemed unfit by the rfl representative. Once that happens the clubs have no say in the matter whether they agree or not. My own opinion is it could have gone ahead but the guidelines in place say otherwise.
The fact that all the other nearby games at Fev, Dewsbury, Batley and Hunslet have all been postponed backs up the fact they are all reading from the same script.
