| Before today, Poore had 183 first grade appearances for St George, Paramatta, County and NSW and has never had a red card I don't think. If he was the loose cannon/penalty machine he's being branded as, he wouldn't have anywhere near the best part of 200 appearances across the NRL & representative teams.
Interestingly, Agar has backed Poore and said that him and Bailey should have had ten minutes a piece and McDermott agreed that Poores sending off was a harsh and heavy-handed decision. (extracts taken from Sky Sports)
The talk on the terraces that I heard, from Wakefield and Leeds fans, was that the referee was too inexperienced at this level, comments echo'd by Agar albeit not in such exacting words.
Poore had been putting himself about on the field and Mr Leahy had clearly noticed such, which may have ultimately contributed towards his decision to send Poore off. Had this not been the case, mr Leahy may not have carded either player after the incident. This just further highlights his unsuitability when it comes to refereeing in super league.
so we've learnt that refereeing development leaves a lot to be desired, and we've once again learnt that where theres Ryan Bailey, there's trouble, but whichever way we look at today, everyone is now talking about Justin Poore and Wakefield Trinity, Result

Did Poore "finish it"? Don't think some people on here realise that Bailey did what he does best
I'm well aware of Bailey's tricks of the trade, however, it was he who ran into Poore off the ball and looked to throw the first punch as he didn't like when Poore came in strong in a tackle earlier in the game. Bailey lost his cool and a more experienced Referee would have seen that.
Fingers crossed we don't have to see Mr Leahy again in a SL game because the previous penalties seemed to have influenced his decision to show the red card to only one

Completely agree. Bailey ran into Poore and grabbed him. Poore then reacted and gave him a beautiful couple of punches in quick succession that required treatment. Think Leeds realised Poore was getting some good go-forward and hitting very hard in the tackle, he'd also caught the ref's attention for a couple of penalties so Bailey orchestrated it and the referee made a terrible decision sending off Poore and sin binning Bailey & Cockayne. It should have been Poore and Bailey in the sin bin. Poore needs to be professional & control that aggression but from his 25 minutes looked an asset but we need him to lead the pack for all the matches and not getting banned next season.
Kyle Leulai didn't even get sent off for punching Fox 4/5 times in the play offs? Yet in a friendly Poore walks? Must be something about playing at Leeds that the referees can't be objective listening to the Leeds crowd?
Referee was absolute rubbish (hope he reads this) and spoilt what could have been a real cracker of a game instead it fizzled out due to a weak WTW bench with a lack of a front row and playing with 11 then 12 for the rest of the match. Slater seemed to make yards though and looked strong. Lynne also looked good in patches but was very raw that kick on the last tackle from him reminded me of schools rugby. Brad Singleton looked strong running the ball in and would be good at Wakefield on loan for the season joining his cumbrian mate Amor. There looked more than 9300 at the game as well....
A lot of the press reports including Engage Super League & Sporting Life are also absolute rubbish as they state Wakefield put out their strongest team yet were missing 8 first team players including player of the year - Raleigh, Wilkes, L.Smith, Amor, Wood, Mariano, Mellars and John!

| It was a rush of blood from Poore in front of his own fans that he will maybe learn a lesson from. Let's be honest, most people enjoyed it and it certainly ramped the intensity of the game up. It will be interesting to see how the judiciary deal with him after the bans handed out to Wigan and Saints players for repeatedly punching. One punch may have seen him get 10 minutes, it's when you throw more than one it seems to become pretty serious up at Redhall.

But still, I suppose you have to take the small victories where you can.

Arnt opinions such a varied subject.
Having a front seat in the bout I think I, and the rest of the West Stand attendees, including the few Leeds fans, can confirm that as Poore ran past, Bailey grabbed hold of him then proceeded to provoke, they got to grappling and then Bailey got what he asked for.
I'm not trying to provoke an argument with you, and I know fans can be biased, hence why we are fans, but I think it stands as fact that Bailey actually provoked the fight, not denying there was hunting going on between them prior to it.

| Quote: bewildered "Please can you conference me in on your phone call to the police to report him for the slander offences? I could do with a chuckle and I've always wanted to hear a police officer chuckle too. Kinda reminds me of that Big Bang Theory episode when Sheldon calls the police to report a theft on his World of Warcraft account.'"
TBF, it's not slanderous. It is, however, libelous (unless, of course, he did actually steal them!). This would not require a call to the police, as it is a civil offence and not a criminal offence but would be a case for lawyers to pursue - as Lord McAlpine demonstrated recently against twitterers.
As for the WOW reference - virtual assets can be subject to legal protection, I'm sure I read recently about a prosecution for theft of virtual assets.
When all said and done, it's a bit pathetic to accuse someone of theft behind what you think is a cloak of anonymity (warning - it isn't!!).

| Happened right in front of us. Bailey provoked it and got a right wallop in the eye. Red card was harsh, the ref didn't even know what day it was let alone know what to do about the situation. Should have had a Super League standard ref for the game.

Most of it from Leeds fans. Can't stand the fact their beloved Bailey got whacked.

| We all like to see them fists flying now and again and hes a terrace hero already just glad it was a friendly and will hopefully learn not to lose it as quickly in the future, saying that I hope that he keeps that side of his game. He's a good player and we'll see good things from him this season his cv speaks for itself. His performance today though reminded me of Lindsey Gill but sure he will be better
