I'm ok with that. Of you added Fielden it is an expensive backup
I'd rather go with Kirke and a young guy who is working towards that like Gledhill than a big pay packet not playing.
Of course if we sign a big NRL prop I'd be happy but I wouldn't sign Kirke then.
For me, build slowly but surely and surely. Short term mavericks won't work for this team. I wonder whether Fielden would be one of those.'"
Why? most of them have been awful.

| Jamie Foster anyone.
I'd take him up against Foxy.
Both a risk in defence, i'd argue Foster is the better finisher and has time to develop the weaker sides of his game.
If we don't get Sykes tied up, we will also need a kicker too, unless IJ has rapidly improved his game?

| For a guy who, basically, hasn't played for two years and considering his age, I can't believe Fielden even gets a mention. With his injury record he'd qualify for housing benefit and JSA on a "pay as you play" contract.

Completely agree, i'd rather see someone with a future get the shirt than someone with only a past.

Of course you make a good point.
I should have said a good one. I don't just want an aussie accent.

Disagree.
Foxy is a better finisher and has more guts than Foster will ever have.
Foster is another of Eddie and Stevos overblown young players - I reckon he will be at Leigh in two years time unless his goal kicking saves him.
For all his flaws Foxy for me.
Possibly, but then again that doesn't say much if Andy Ellis has ended up at fev!!!
Either way i don't think there is much in it but the goal kicking is a real asset if required.

| Foxy or Foster well plus and minus points for both minus points for both - Defending
Plus points - Foster good goal kicker,Fox takes the ball up well.
For me it would be Fox as he does more work taking the ball up than Foster.Give Fox the ball in a tight situation near the line and for me he edges Foster out as the one who would score.

| I don’t think we want to fall into the trap of going with a small squad. I know Agar wants to get the numbers down but having adequate back up is of course essential. The fact is that this season we have been very fortunate with injuries, we won’t always be this lucky. If we had a situation like in most parts of 2008 and early 2009, when we regularly had 8 first choice players out how would we cope? A crucial few weeks without decent back up could cost dearly in terms of league position. I just hope this years good fortune isn’t taken as complacency.

I'd like to see another untility back to give us more cover someone who can play 1-5. 1 or 2 props a decent standoff or give IJ another chance after seeing him play so well in the u20's
