Because his face doesn't fit, and he hasn't done enough to push himself in front of other players.
On your argument why on earth is Amor not playing for England? or indeed was considered not good enough for the Rhinos. Or why isn't Aiton playing for his country?
By contrast, the players in front of Smith for a jersey are of course playing for their countries.

If you are going to quote someboy, then do it properly. I never said what you have put. I said "way above the quality of player you currently have".

| Got to agree with Gotcha, Smith adds proven class to our squad, he should improve our defence no end. Lets be fair whatever position we play him in, wing, centre or full back his defence will be better than we have been used to watching this season. Remember we are leaking 30 points a match on average and I get the impression that most of these are have been scored through our centres / wing defence. It will help that he can catch the ball. That said I am not going to judge him from what happens against Wigan as they can thump anyone.

I'm very happy with the loan signing of Lee Smith and I think he will add to our squad.
Just a minor point I thought Paul Aiton played for and Captained his Country.

We're talking about Paul Aiton, the guy who captained Papua New Guinea in the 2010 Four Nations here. Which Aiton are you on about?

Then I will take it back then. On the proviso that it is accepted that my 88 year old gran would have a shot at playing for Papua New Guinea. Granted, captain might be beyond though.

He's just a ill informed, mis-guided troll looking for a bite.
Unfortunately he is right about Amor though, certainly no where near good enough to compete with Griffin, Moore or Bailey for a front row spot.
I now hoping he's not Mrs Smith and that in fact he's Brian McDermott

| I'm a ST holder a Leeds and he has been terrible this year, it could only be disciplinary reason as to why he has was selected ahead of BJB quite often this season!! He could have been a truly brilliant player had he not moved to union but has only had 1 good game since he came back and that was he second debut against Bradford when he scored twice in a drawn game!!
Havnt seen much of wakey this year but judging by Mathers performance against Leeds this season and think Smith will be better than him, just. I have nagging feeling he could thrive at a with all due respect lesser club. He can be a really good player if he sorts himself out, but at the moment he is a below average SL player!!

Just a minor point, before you get so defensive you curl up in a furry little ball. Where have I talked about Amor not been good enough to compete with those players?
I simply said Smith is a better quality player than you have. One of your posters brought up Amor, and I still never critisised him. I just pointed out that by his logic of Smith been released by Leeds, then did not the same happen with Amor.

Yet my statement still stands even with you added, your logic trying to justify that Smith is "way above" in terms of quality of anyplayer we currently have is wide of the mark.Smith is a competent utility back, but to suggest he is "way above the quality" than say Paul Aiton is quite frankly absurd.

Excellent fullback, better winger than you currently have, and before he went to union was when he played centre and certainly looked better there than what you currently have. Can also switch to half back or hooker if required.
He deserved to get away from Leeds, because he is better than a reserve, and I hope he shows you exactly what he has in his locker.'"
Lets not kid ourselves.
He has been all those things in the past, but in the last 2 seasons at best he's been average. The reason he has found himself in the reserves is because he hasn't performed good enough and BJB, Hardaker, and Watkins have all overtaken him.
The ball is in his court. This is a good opportunity for him, and if he takes it and regains some form he might have a future at Leeds. If not, I think McDermott will have finally lost patience with him, he put his confidence in him at the start of the year and for a period in the middle by playing him ahead of BJB, but put simply, Smith was awfull.

| He had an offer on the table from Cronulla, And if you go by what the aussies were saying on the NRL board many of them belive he was up to scratch to play NRL rugby. The guy captains his country - Lee smith can`t get into a mid league superleague side? Based on that you dont have a clue what you are talking about. Your argument makes no sense what so ever anyway
