Quote: J.T "Classic cry baby sports fans who think it's acceptable to give out all sorts of abuse to a player but if said player gives a bit back out come the dummies and they can't take it. If you're going to give it out you've got to be big enough to get it back.

On another note I can't understand why there was no response to my text about the large number of Hull fans being disrespectful to the referee before kick off!'"

You here it alot now, Leeds, Hull kr, and Hull as yesterday. I hav'nt heard wakefield fans chanting this and i hope i dont.

Quote: J.T "It's good to know that Hull fans are holding up the moral integrity of Rugby League. It must have been very time consuming giving Sean long grief when he played for you given his dubious past. In fact I'm surprised Hull fans ever have time to support their team given the number of dubious characters we have knocking around in Super League.'"

Well done for completely missing my point. For some reason people are thinking that me giving a reason for the abuse is me giving an excuse for it.
The publicity that the Cockayne case got in Hull, and the lack of any actual justice that was given to his victim, means he will always be the centre of attention for Hull fans. It would be the same in any other area. Pryce got plenty after his misdemeanour's.

Quote: J.T "For what it is worth I am no fan of Cockayne and would have preferred him not to have come to our club but then as I have already said our club and the sport long crossed what I would see as the moral line regarding player behaviour so that's what we have to live with. '"

Well at least someone has finally said it. I was disgusted the other year when we tried to sign Stuart Reardon and glad it fell through. A signing attempted on the same day we launched a campaign again domestic violence. Only our old board, eh!

Quote: J.T "Why should any player have to put up with the sort of grief Cockayne got yesterday and not then be able to celebrate and give a bit back when the tables are turned?'"

Because it's his job to show respect and tolerance as part of being a professional sportsman?

Quote: J.T "I mean if we are taking the moral high ground then most Hull fans should have been removed from the ground before kick off given their foul and abusive chanting towards Ganson as he warmed up, it is a family game after all...'"

You're probably right, and again I don't condone this (something that people seem to misinterpret me as condoning for some reason even though I keep making this perfectly clear), although to say "most" is a bit OTT.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people that take banter too far. I think most of the chanting towards Ganson was more "pantomime" than anything, but again their were the idiots that took it too far. You didn't see him coming over to give the Hull fans loads after the game, did you?

Players have more responsibility, MUCH more responsibility, than fans (it's US that pays to see THEM at the end of the day). It shouldn't be tolerated by either, but the spotlight will always shine more on the players than the fans as they're the ones that get paid and their the ones that have the most influence. And before someone misinterprets what I've said AGAIN, I AREN'T CONDONING EITHER!

Quote: vastman "This is Hull right? The bastion of player decency - you ask older fans what Eastwood got done for in the early 1990's - it would make Ben look like a monk.'"

So now you've gone from "two wrongs make a right" to "it was worse in the past, this isn't as bad".

Stop making excuses. I aren't. None of it should be condoned.

Quote: GET EM ON SIDE REF "I have supported Wakefield for 37 years and Hull and Hull KR have always being a horrible nasty bunch I have being to every ground in the RL and watched many other games that did not involve Wakefield I have seen very few problems other than when we play the Hull clubs they both have nasty foul mouthed fans who would be better off supporting Leeds Utd. I have watched games like Fev V Cas Dewsbury V Batley Cas v Wakey and barr the rare incident banter is banter but the Hull fans go too far.

Ref Ben Cockayne our club gave him the chance and the kid has taken it with both hands for me one of our better signings in the SL era I do not care about his past he had paid the price for it and its now down to him to grow up and do what he does well he is a very good RL player'"

Well said 100% agree.

Ok, so are we all agreeing that none of us like or condone it?

Do Hull fans make it their personal mission to act as the moral compass of RL, for example lambasting from the sideline Rangi Chase, Ryan Bailey, Leon Pryce, Gareth Hock and the many others with criminal convictions? Or do they, as I suspect, reserve their indignance only for players who happen to have once played for HKR?

Wellsy, you're tying yourself in knots; Cockayne, for all his past and well-documented misdemeanours, did nothing wrong yesterday - some idiotic Hull fans who didn't like it up 'em, did. The end.

Did Peter Fox get abuse from sections of the crowd yesterday? I think that answers your question.

Again, don't be one of them idiots that stereotypes all Hull fans as the same.

He was inciting the crowd. That is wrong. The idiotic Hull fans who bit to it were also wrong. That is the end.

When an opposing player dislikes your club enough to incite your fans after a game, we'll see your opinion of the matter then...

Those idiots, not them. Bloody Hull fans - they're all illiterate.

You're still wrong by the way - Rangi Chase taunts us regularly, Jamie Peacock did it earlier this season and even Mathers did it last year; I don't remember fans chucking things at them or spending the next 48 hours sending abusive messages to them on Twitter.

Get over it.

Apologies for the misuse of grammar. I do feel you could have used quotation marks to make your sentence completely accurate though. And possible a capital letter on your username.

I've read plenty of comments in the past from Wakefield fans about Chase, so that's a little rich! I hope you're not trying to say that there has never been an incident with Wakefield fans sparked by incitement by an on-field player?

ALL clubs(including your own) have a minority of idiots, but think you will find that this has nothing at all to do with my club so please don't bring us into it.
And it's "have always been" not being

Being spat at on 2 or 3 occasions at HKR old lad and will never forget a JPS Cup final at Elland Road in the 80s animals in fact I would say HKR are worse than Hull

I remember there being trouble in the play off semi final in 98 against KR when Franny Stephenson was a little enthuisiastic in his celebrations.
