The ones in bold I agree, but the other not IMO. Those teams were all cobbled together for peanuts - as I keep saying this one cost a bit despite what those in denial suggest.
It's not the worst team by some way but it's has to be one of the most under achieving. Reminds me of the teams Peter Tunks and Mitch Brennan put together in the mid 90's - lots of names but no umph.

| I am relieved others feel the same. As mentioned, thousands are now leaving home games early and eventually, will not come back for more.
We are an entertainment sport and as such, providing very little. There is nothing gladiatorial about our fare. We are in danger of having our own Leeds/ Wigan walk if things continue.
It's also a bit strange that some of the big posters have avoided comment.
I am as passionate as the next man with my support and had some magical moments down the years. We are on a knife edge at the moment and the next month is crucial in NM and many ways.
The crux is the style of play, weird player roatation, and ignoring props in lower leagues who could provide as much grunt but more passion than some of the overpaid overseas wasters we currently employ. The style of play is turning people away from the club before the 80 has finished.

| To me one of the problems is the inability to defend out wide.
A problem that has strangely been there a while no matter who the coaches or players are.
This suggests to me that work is not being done in the middle where too many players are being sucked in leaving the outside backs isolated and on a hiding to nothing.
This then would suggest as many point out that our pack is struggling in defense to hold the opposition pack and the result of this is that when we are on the attack we have less energy to go forward.
Conclusion a couple of raw boned , no nonsense props to to knock the opposition about a bit.
Oh I just read back and thats what many are advocating.

| Our execution in attack is the worst I have seen in 25 years.
How many times to we fail to complete a set or make a hash of the last tackle play.
The disappointment is that we appeared to be signing better quality players than we had last season but, the reality was that we cleared out/ lost around 16 players and with the odd exception, Aiton, Mathers and Kirmond (plus Amor who was here last season), we didnt improve the squad. Indeed, Rinaldi and Moore and even Korkidas are better than what we have.
Maybe we are guilty of expecting too much too soon but, as I have said many times before, the measure of a good coach is to ensure that the players play to the peak of their ability and our coach is so far of this benchmark that it is getting to be depressing

| Quote: Stanley Cat "There are a lot of things that just don't feel good this season. There is yet to be any "star" players emerging who's name is assosiated with Wakefield Wildcats. Have you heard any single players names being chanted like when JD, Rooney etc played for us. The only players in this team that are worthy of having their name on the back of your shirt are Cockayne and Amor. I think this team is very bland with no emerging memorable players at all and to top that it has far too many Aussie has beens or never was players.'"
Think you're missing Kirmond from that very short list, other than that it has been disappointing so far.
Aiton is also a class player, but is struggling to show it too much in our side, but he does not give up like some seem to be doing at the minute.
I've said it previously, we appear to have lost that all important "Wakefield Trinity backs to the wall" spirit that has seen us through so many SL seasons. Part of that I will attribute to us being battered in the pack all the time but some of it has to go down to the wrong type of players for us.
The Catalans win came on the back of a huge disappointment and sense of injustice at the "defeat" at Warrington. That to me, gave us the motivation and spirit that has been lacking in other games, but it hasn't lasted. We need something to fire us up/ bring us together as a team once more - can the derby game against Cas do it? I'm praying so....

Not only that, does AG want to risk losing the momentum his involvement has helped create.
In three years time, he may look back on a wasted three years, at best!!

| I wouldn't put it down as the worst, but probably one of the most disappointing. But i think that is down to peoples inflated expectations and presumptions at the beginning of the season. I think we've shown flashes of class in quite a few games. But we seem to be lacking passion, determination and grit to carry one when we go two tries down. I don't see the dogged attitude were used to from our players anymore....

| I think one of the things missing from this side and it's down to the huge turnover of players is, we've got no players left from a few years ago that lived through the sad deaths and the back to the wall attitude that came with being the underdog and having to fight for every win. I think it's being said before the teams lacking a few guys who have been there and done it at Trinity, who know what's it like to get slagged of each week and given no respect what so ever by certain sections. If we had a Morrison & a JD on the pitch it would work wonders imo.

| The fact that the team lacks a natural on-field leader is obvious to everyone. We could really do with someone to give the players a damn good rollocking when they are stood under the posts for the umteenth time.

| We look like a side thats had our lips stitched up apart from Smith virtually no one else communicates. We do need someone who says it like it is and gets the others wound up to spill blood. The side need to go on the pitch and play as if they were at war not as if playing touch and pass.

| Yes, I think the sides lacking a strong, communicator, leader on the pitch, it would also preferably be someone that's been at the club a few years but obviously there isn't no one like that since Morro retired.

| The year after we got robbed at Wigan in the play offs was not the greatest although in some ways, similar to this as expectency levels were higher than we are traditionaly used to and we came crashing down to earth. From the moment Ellis left pre season and was replaced by Jules O'Neill a couple of weeks before the season started we were onto a hiding to nothing.
Always felt it was a big opportunity missed, as with a bit of investment (not sure where from??) in that team we could have stuck around the mid to upper table for a few years i think

| I tend to look on things with the view that we are basically a brand new team. Similar to when Catalans and Crusaders came into the league and had a team thrown together. They both struggled to begin with as do most 'new' teams, but look how good Catalan are doing now they've established themselves as a team

Yes can just see him stood there with his empty pockets hanging out and scratching his head, just thinking where did it all go.
Glad its not my money being chucked away. Respect for the bloke in the way he has got so many things better and feel sorry for him in the way he has been let down. However like you seem to suggest if he isn't happy with the way things seem to be working out, he is the only person that can do something about it.
