If you watch Souths every team he plays against puts extra bodies into the tackle against him, that is a hell of a complement to the lad when you have David Taylor and Greg Inglis in your ranks.
As you point out his injury record is not great but he is an 80 minute forward who has grown significantly in his life in every direction, certain parts of his body are still catching up with him in my opinion.
In the next couple of years or so I think his injury record will improve significantly once his tendons and ligaments develop a little further. Lets not forget he is still only 23 year old. Frightening really.'"
Have to agree. Burgess is the best most dynamic all round forward maybe even player this country has produced in years. Better than Ellis whom I rate very highly. Think it says it all that it took the combined wealth of two very rich Aussies to stop him falling into Union hands - which was where his talent would have led him.
I know what Bren means but I don't think his injury record is that bad and I take last season as a blip and I hope he recovers. Really like Kirmond and he might be able to compete with most SR even Westwood and Ellis at a push. However Burgess is in a class of his own in any position in the pack bar hooker.
