thats the thing, I didn't. I enjoyed the Huddersfield and Hull KR matches more than tonight. All the good things from the first half were eclipsed by the awfulness of the second. I knew Salford would come out more determined and tighten their defence up, but the shear stupidity of the play in both attack and defence was infuriating. The game needed killing off, and Trinity did their best to do the opposite. We're luckly Salford only started throwing it about in the last 5 minutes.

That's just it. We won, which is good and much needed but the manner of victory was a little concerning. Rather, another dreadful second half which could easily have cost us the game if Salford had dropped one ball less than they did does little to dispel my fears that we're not going to see many good results this season.

It would have been nice to improve our points difference a little more.

We snatched an ugly victory from the jaws of a comfortable victory. Could have been 30+ points up in the first half quite easily.

Can we just play 80 minutes solid from now on, no half time break?

I was disappointed with the second half and I've just passed my underpants on to the wife as they need a good wash but a win today was far more important than the way we achieved it.

Thought we played well in the first half and had we been steadier the game would have been over at half time. We need to play for the full 80 minutes but I thought there were encouraging signs and something to build on. My MoM was Peter Fox, not because he was the best player on view but for that tackle/stop he mage that left him on the floor because had he not come in and stopped the move I think they would have scored and won the game.

Looking at the full 80 minutes I thought we deserved the win and after some of the recent performances I'm satisfied that we won and think we can now improve.

I expected it to be close and for Salford to win, they didn't, so I'm happy!
Tonight were were trying things and most of it came off, I'm pleased with what I saw!

We were very lucky in the end. Instead of giving salford who were potentially 20+ points worse than us a good beating, our negativity nearly lead to us losing. We seem to want to just hold on in games when we have been in a position to win well. We need to be far more positive to create momentum going forward this season, instead of being super negative when we can kill teams off.

At 14 points up in the second half we looked like we were playing as if we were 14 points down.

When Salford were dire, we were dominant. As soon as they played like you would expect a team to play, we struggled. We couldn't convert superiority to points, and Salford made real inroads on the fringes.

Were it not for Danny Kirmond pulling that ball out, we would have lost that game. If we almost blow a game with so much dominance, what happens when we get to the arm wrestles?

I'll take the win, but don't take too many positives from it.

I'm just happy with the win, sure we made it hard for ourselves but I believe that we've had our confidence knocked bad in recent weeks and this win will go a long way to instilling some self belief back into the side. The team knows it can play, we've shown it various times but we've failed to nail that full 80 minute performance, hopefully on the back if this we can build. Said before the game that I thought Salford were there for the taking and found it hard to believe that a few fans thought we had no chance against them for some reason and as it proved we had just enough for them.

Yeah, I'll take that spin. Wish we didn't have Saints away next. Except that if Danny Kirmond had not pulled that ball out, it would have been very poor, a disgrace.

You know whilst your positive look on things is refreshing and some of what you say i agree with. But to be honest you don't half come across as a condesending prick. People weren't happy with the performance, and rightly so. You deal with it.

Like others as said we won its 2pts, first half I'm happy with, we just need to get it right for full 80 mins....

If you were then all is lost, massive improvement needed, we all want the same thing but some are just more easily pleased than others.

Lets hope its a step in the right direction.

Good first half with one lousy kick leading to a Salford try and a silly mistake nearly giving them another just before the hooter

Alton/Wilkes/Amor/Mathers/Fox/Ben/Kirkmond/James/ all played well Collis at times bar the inside pass when he had Fox on the wing.

Lousy call in the 2nd half ref Mathers but the same players yet again went missing in the 2nd half no need to name them at times the kick on the last was woeful all night but the chase in the first 50 minutes was good

I will try and explain my feelings differently then. I wasn't intending that.
However it is clearly winding me up how negative some are getting even when things are starting to get better.
I stand by what I said but accept I could rephrase.
