| I must say that I would feel somewhat frustrated if I was in Andrew Glovers Shoes.
I would now be wanting some wins and failing that performances to give hope.
As has been alluded to in in the posts by fellow oldies this administration seems to be the best since the days of Stuart Hadfield and Ronnie Fell.
The danger is that lack of success on the field will erode a lot of the good work being done .
The shop for example will only really prosper if fans are enthused by a vibrant winning team.
Even if we get to Newmarket only the diehards will continue to attend after the first flush of something new.
Just being realistic , but remaining optimistic as usual if that isnt a contradiction.

Infact this season I have found it really hard to get any enjoyment from watching the first team. However I still like seeing games on Sky and I have enjoyed some of the U20's games this season, so it can't be RL in general.
Must be an age thing we have, as you get older you get tired of being dished up mediocre crap and listening to all the excuses for it.'"
I know exactly how you feel.
The tipping point for me was when Broughy left. He's not the greatest but he was exciting, a match winner and on occasions sublime. I think it's because since 2004 with the odd hick up I'd kinda got used to watching half decent players playing half decent RL and generally winning more than they lost. In the last 3 years we have gone backwards in a big way - in terms of performances we are in some ways worse than in the early days of SL when at least we had excuses.
It's not AG's fault, I don't even blame Agar - on paper we look good. However the RL we are paying to watch is for the most part poor and un-inspiring - so much so that when I miss the odd game for other reasons it no longer registesr as an issue, in fact if we are playing a top team it's a blessed relief - really shouldn't be like that.

or cheap beer?
and what about the playing criterial aspects of a licence application, player development, on field success.
oh and finally please enlighten me as to why losing every weekwill lead to a long term sustainable business model?? i must have missed that lecture!
and not having a go at you or anyone, neither have i called for anyones head, coach or players.'"
Shop= income, tv advertising = better gates = more income, beer sales = income, Income = cash for better players ? Better players = better league positions = bigger crowds = more beer sales etc. Sales on merchandise, match day refreshments and tickets I'd have thought would be vital for a club like ours. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't know if it's an age thing or not but having watched the game since 1960 I know that the excitement in anticipation of a game is not the same. If I have to miss a match now I'm annoyed that I've not used my ticket but not that I missed the game!
It's not that I'm falling out with RL but I'm getting a bit sick of all the false dawns over the years at Belle Vue.
I do think now though, that there is genuine hope at the club because for the first time since the great 60's we seem to have an owner who knows what he is doing. A few wins on the field would help moral though!

Franchising, Marketing and Minimum Standards etc were things that simply did not register pre SL. In the last 15 years they have rightly become important but are now wrongly too important IMO. Truth is we can get all excited about what AG has done and even more excited about NM potential should it happen. However the truth of the matter is that we all really want to watch Trinity for what happens on not off the pitch, as do all fans.
However no set of supporters have had their attention more continually diverted from on to off field issues than us, almost to the point where the game is secondary on occasions. This I think is what people mean when they say they are tired. No set of fans IMO deserve the chance to enjoy just watching the game than we do - it's been so long since we were not permanently in the last chance saloon it's beyond the memory of most fans.
This is what NM is really all about. If it happens in a few years the only thing that will bother us is the team and how it performs. Then at last maybe the real Trinity will turn out on the pitch and dare I say perform to their potential without being bogged down by all the off field issues. Seems so simple and for most fans of most clubs it is just that simple. I reckon for once I speak for us all when I say we would really like a bit of that.

You can speak for me, on all of that!!!
A similar argument to that of NM can be made for saying bo!!ox to it all and letting them kick us out and going into the championship, just for the shear joy of going to watch a game of rugby for the love of it.
SL has imposed itself on the game as the be all and end all, and if you want to watch your club "at the top level" then it is, but RL lives elsewhere and there are times when i feel like i'd rather watch Stanley Rangers, Eastmoor or even Normy ( )!!!

I agree, I've said on here before that I wish for the benefit of the younger fans success would return.
By that I mean watching a team of quality run out in RW and B, knowing they are genuinely the best going!
Saturday would be a start!

| Yeah, all of above is spot on.
Speaking to a mate same age as me,also lifelong fan, he feels less enthused than ever.
We have all simply been worn down by all the false promises etc and demands of Superleague membership and simply want to get back to watching the game.
Mustnt it be easy supporting a Leeds or a Wigan.

Its not just the fact that some of SLs requirements are "off piste" though, ask a wigan or a leeds and they'll tell you that its all fine and dandy. Its more the fact that as a club in the past we have stressed out ourselves by the way we have squirmed and tried to avoid adhering to the rules at all cost.
The obvious favouritism shown by the RFL to other clubs over the years is a different issue though, and one sometimes we have contrived to cause the lack of compassion shown to us by the RFL, but buy and large we have never played on a level playing field, which of course adds to the despair of the average wakey fan.
