Every team makes those.
5 GAMES.
Double the figure, and if things are still the same, I'll join everyone else in the rant.

I get what you saying, and think as far as the unforced errors are concerned, we just need to find a better balance between the 5 drives and a kick low risk JK tactics of the last 2 seasons, and the more expansive rugby we are trying to play this season. For mine, as I said on another thread, we are trying to be too elaborate and almost panicking at times, with some ill advised or in some cases plain impossible/bad off-loads/passes. We also need people receiving the ball to be coming from a bit deeper so they are already at speed when taking the pass, thus giving them a far better opportunity of breaking the tackle or getting through a gap before it gets closed.
On the one on one tackles, for me we need to move up quicker and get in he oppositions faces before they get to much of a head of steam up. Our advance 2m and wait to see what the opposition are gonna do ploy gives away easy metres and puts us on the back foot, as well as making it more difficult to effect these one on one tackles.

| Quote: TRB "OK Boss! Put it this way, it's losing fans - one I know very well indeed has already told me she ain't going to any away games this season and will only go to the home ones because she has a season ticket. I may well be past my sell-by date, but I just haven't got the stomach for watching another season of losing rugby - it hurts too much. But nevermind, we can all go and congratulate the players on their losing performance on Twitter and convince ourselves that we're 'nearly there'
TRB, I agree that we are guilty of making the same mistakes on a reoccurring basis at the moment. I think offensively some of these are caused by players actually trying too hard, rather than not trying at all. As I have said on a few threads now, composure with ball in hand is something we need to work on, we are turning the ball over too early in the tackle count or throwing good field position and possession away, with over elaborate moves and impossible/bad offloads/passes.
As for the bit of your post I have highlighted, I am suprised that a fan who has watched the last 2 to 3 seasons at Wakey of mainly losing rugby and lets face it, regular hammerings with little entertainment, can 5 games into a season where we could and probaly should be sat with at least 3 wins from 5 (if not more) and have not got hammered by anyone, be contemplating not going anymore. As I refer to above, the losing part is no different to what we have had for the last few years, but the competing part and trying to play some decent rugby is a big difference this season and is most welcome in my opinion.
Yes, we do need to start turning being competiive into winning, but we still have plenty of matches left and if we can address the lack of a goalkicker, then I have no doubt we will do.

Tell her she needs to cheer up and stop being so miserable 'cos she's bringing you down. To use the argument that we are losing fans is a strange one considering the turnouts so far. I'd be wary of using her example as representative just yet

| Quote: TRB "But if that's the point, how come we were winning games this time last season? The team then were largely new / thrown together - and on a tight budget, but we found a way to win then and we need to do it now.'"
Comparing the results of this year's version of WTW with last year's, against teams who've also made significant changes, is an exercise in futility. It has to be remembered that the rest of SL is not static; we may well have found ways to win against some teams last season, but both they and us have made radical changes since then.
I understand the frustration, but I question the methodology in arriving at it; we're in a much better position than we were last year, in allsorts of ways, and I'll take that big picture improvement over a couple of 'Kear specials' any day, providing it leads to sustainable improvements and on that front, it's too early to make a judgement.

| From beating Widnes, when we played some expansive and attractive rugby league, we appear to be playing a much "safer" game and certainly less expansive.
Yes there have been a hefty number of stray passes, but we seem to be trying not to lose, rather than trying to win.
We don't have enough spark in attack and out of our mix of half backs/hookers there is only Wood that has any kind of tactical kicking game.
The club has come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months and the crowd yesterday was excellent. However, it would appear that we are not being ambitious enough on the pitch,
especially taking into acount the squad that we have.

| Quote: Richard1 "This years team are better than the rubbish we saw last season because when we lost last season we were absolutely battered most times. We are not being blown away this season and have been close in all games so far i think. There was no middle point last season. If we lost last season it was embarrasing. I would be surprised if we did not win more than the 7 we did last term. And i would be very surprised if we had the shambolic points diff that we had last term. We have not been great so far this season. Last season was shocking.'" mate , the rubbish as you call them fromlast year beat all 3 teams that have beat us this year, with a coach that probably spent half the money that we have this season but all the signs are there and before long we will click and the investment will pay off. don't think there is any lack of effort or skill among the boys. familiarity will breed sucess.
