Yes he did. He also fails to realise because he never researches what he types at 5 ft 11 in 16 st 7 lb Stosic is slightly smaller than Johnson but about 1/2 a stone heavier. However he has IMO a props physique and will carry an extra stone easily, may well have added 1/2 a stone in the off season.
We have an obsession on this forum with making out our players to be smaller than they are and the opposition much bigger.
Strength, grit, skill, experience and biff are a different issue.

If we had a James Stosic in the team alongside Southern there wouldn't be many teams that would enjoy attacking us down the middle.'"
Tronc was better than Stosic for me (when he 1st arrived) I liked the way he could take out 3 or 4 players and offload. A proper prop.

Tronc could have been a legend at BV if things had gone in the way they should have done.

| Tronc and Stosic were very different style players but equally they were two of the best props we've had in a long time.
I'd have either back now. Both would be great.

| I think Tronc had to retire due to injury.
While he was here he was a class above.

Of course he was, but he didn't fit in with our club - for whatever reasons - and for that reason I would choose Stosic ahead of him.
I judge the man, not just the talent!

| I believe I am correct in assuming that this thread was started as a result of our pack being dominated by Les Cats on Saturday ???
Whilst we all acknowledge that we undoubtedly could do with a hard hitting prop, let's not forget that the pack was also missing our hardest hitter in Southern, and was also missing Wilkes and Mariano !!!!
Do not despair.......THE SEASON HASN'T EVEN KICKED OFF YET !!!!!!!!

| What's Stosic up to anyway can't seem to find out where he is or who he's playing for, would have made a good partnership with Southern imo if he'd have been here.

I can never understand why fans like you take a reasonable point (we are one of the lighter front rows and cou;d do with another prop) and then stretch and twist it to the ridiculous length that we have only one prop. You just destroy any credibility you're point had.
Friendlies mean nothing IMHO other than giving people excuses to moan.'" johnson is wasted in the front row. his preferred position is second row. he will tell you that. ollie is a decent front rower. kyle as you mentioned earlier is still learning and no matter what others may say can be called back up until july. i don't talk rubbish. i give my opinion as i accept other peoples opinions

mate , i can tell you from first hand experience that tronc was a waste of skin as a team player. from the day he stepped off the plane till the day he stepped back on , he never wanted to be here. bagged the club, bagged the boys, bagged everyone around him. best thing about him, he didn't want to speak to anyone which meant nobody had to listen to him whine. stosic on the other hand gave 110% . worked for the guys at the side of him and the team and wanted to play at wakey, which is a big plus

| For my money last season Leeds lacked props with Peacock out the likes of JJB, Kirke & Hauraki filled in this season they have addressed the problem and have Moore, Griffin, Peacock, Bailey, Leuluai
Im sorry Johnson is not a prop never in this world he may be one day Amor is very young with a lot to learn without the props we will be dominated more often than not in the middle.
Give me 2 out of these 3 anyday John Glancy, Roy Bratt, James Stosic nothing fancy just do the graft

No desperation from this poster- just general comments and personal opinion about our strenghts. I don't give a toss about what happened, result wise in France, that's history. Whether we need a hard hitting prop time will tell. The truth is we'll go with what we've got and I will be the first to admit I was wrong if that proves to be the case. It does seem to ruffle a few feathers though if you voice opinion but I suppose it would be a boring site without controversy!
