| Quote: GET EM ON SIDE REF "Lets just hope that it was Howarth who wanted to go and not Agar who has pushed him good young player who will get fixed up no problem
Lets face it Mr Agars record with young players is not good and our squad is now full of overseas players again hope the likes of Moore get a chance but I am not holding my breath hope we dont go back to the bad old days with a team full of imports'"
Which would you rather have a team of mainly imports finishing top 6 most seasons, or mainly English finishing out of the 8 ? Let's face it England are never going to produce players the standard that we see in NRL. Let's have some glory for a while.

| If I have counted correctly we currently have 8 foreign players out of a squad going on for 30.
There will be injuries so surely opportunities will arise for younger home produced players to come in then.
Also give them spells on the bench and gradually bring them along.
We cannot just throw the likes of Moore ,Widie, Wood etc all in together.
It is not just as simple as home versus foreign.
Say we had 2 experienced home produced halves the younger lads would still have to wait their turn all the time hopefully learning from them.
Huddersfield for example have Brough, Robinson,Brown.
The younger halves there will have to wait.

It depends what the alternative is. What if we have Washbrook and T Smith playing in the halfs and not performing to standard? The 3 mentioned player have had plenty of exposure now I just hope they aren’t kept out for players that are not performing, which has happened in the past.

what a right load of rubbish we never will if they never get the chance
By the way how many times have Wakefield made the play offs since 81 with all our imports
I make it 4
Do you think we can go from 2nd bottom to top 8 in season 1 get real man I will be happy with 10th next season and 8th the year after

| I'd be happy with an improvement on last season of course, but why can't we be challenging for the 8 ? I don't see any reason we can't. If you think England will ever bring through as many International standard playeds as the Aussies your living on planet Zog. Australia's second 17 would walk into our pathetic outfit.

| I do agree with that Dee Hell.
Give the lads a chance if someone is not performing whoever they may be.

| I just want to see youngsters given a proper pathway into the first team - Saints have shown the way in the last couple of seasons and whilst it may be slightly risky, you don't uncover your Foster/Lomax/Gaskill's by playing safe.

well if thats the case we may as well call it a day and play RU it wont happen overnight but with the right managment and investment there is no reason why we cant match the standards set by the Aussies in years to come

| I've not seen anything from Howarth that would suggest he's a Super League player. I think the club has made the right decision in releasing Howarth, Vievers and Penney. None of them are good enough.

| Seems to me whatever happens people are not happy. Youngsters do deserve a chance but for it to be effective they need experience around them to learn and for support. Last year this wasn't the case and look what happened. I agree saint Helen's have a great youth coming through but look at the players around them as they are coming through. Yes we have overseas players coming in but who would you have rather had decent quality signings or less than average local players. This is a transition period, let's give it time to benefit the team. Comparing us to saint Helen's is not a reasonable comparison as they have not had the same financial restraints we have had. Glover is doing what he promised and finally we should be gettin some stability. Over the next couple of years let the youth learn off a decent squad and it will pay fruit. The next thing we need to do is work on the community side and get more interest. People keep mentioning agar and youth development, I know 2 players who played for him at hull who say without doubt he is the best coach they have ever played under. I am sure they will be here for 2013. Let's give the guy a chance and not forget a coaches job is to WIN not to keep everybody happy

Excellent post! all the stuff I hear about agar from people within the game over at hull suggest he is an excellent coach and very very technical. Give the guy a chance people he's part of the transition as well. An improvement on last year is a must a top eight finish is not, that would be a bonus for me. This is virtually a brand new team with brand new coaching and back room staff. Let them develop together and lets see where we are three years down the line

A better option would be to forget about the obsession with trying to compete with Australia on the international scene , and concentrate on producing players for SL. If the second string NRL rejects are good enough to rip it up in SL, bring them on (Isaac John). The kids will have to step it up another level to play 1st team, otherwise unlucky not good enough. Why do we have to have sub-standard English players forced into the 1st team when they are just not good enough. Stuff International rugby.
