Quote: Uptoncat "Agreed Altofts. He played tongia today which is fair enough, however it was his debut against arguably the best side in the league in a position he's not accustomed to! He hauled Morton off who for me did no wrong, the men inside him were woeful especially the likes of Lee and smith who kept getting caught out of position time and time again, Morton was solid under the high ball too. Walk away now John were grateful for the past but you're spoiling things now and to say you were happy with the defense after leaking 11 tries shows just how much you've lost the plot!'"
Some absolutely ridiculous coaching and substitutions made yesterday.
Firstly Smith ahead of Tony, ridiculous!
Vievers at Fullback and Tongia in centre, ridiculous!
Taking Morton off and replacing him with a forward (can't remember who came on for him)
Then taking Dean off and putting Gledhill on.
Leaving Frankie on after he could hardly walk, when the game was done and dusted.
Every one of those decisions individually were wrong, combined they were just the most bizarre display of management/coaching that I have seen for a long time.
As much as I appreciate what Kear has done for us, he is now not doing himself or us any favours by staying in position until the end of the season. Let him walk away now, even if we still have to pay him till the end of his contract. Give someone else a chance to pick a team that contains players who want to play for the shirt and that can play in their proper positions.
To be honest even if it means asking James Elston to pick the side, it can't be any worse!!
