We havn't got a hope in hell because our players are nowhere near as good as the aussies or kiwis. We could have anybody in charge and we wouldn't win the 4 nations just like we could have any coach in charge of the current wakey squad we still wouldn't win the grand final.

| Murphy should have been in ahead of Marsh, Arundel, Charnley, MacGilvary and Lomax IMO. He played a full season for us last year, which Marsh, Arundel, Charnley and MacGilvary didnt do, and he is also extremely versatile. In attack he may not be as quick as the other lads, but he is absolutely solid in defence. Massive disappointment for him not to get any recognition whatsoever.
Huge congratulations to Dale Ferguson. He thoroughly deserves his place in the squad, regardless of Wakey/Hudds/Whoever. Best of luck Fergie.

| the most staggering aspect of these squads is that there are 6 players in the squad who have played for trinity in recent seasons.... six!!!
if you add gareth ellis and a few quality overseas players that would be a phenomonal team!

| I'm sorry, but I just don't get this 'Choose-your-nationality-for -this -season' stuff.
Hugely pleased for Dale, but did Scotland need to release him, or do they have no say ?
Player of the year for Scotland one year, selected by England next? Baffling.
And if he fails to impress, can he go back to Scotland?
Given DB's to-ing and fro-ings, I guess so.
The RL bods have got to do something to try and make the international scene even a little credible,
and sorting out this flag of convenience stuff would help

can’t see why we don’t just go back to GB at the end of the day Ireland is a non starter is there one real Irish player in the squad, does anybody in Ireland even know if they have an international team and if so do they care. the same with Scotland and Wales will always struggle to produce a competitive team at international level

Part of it was to do with grant funding from the Welsh Assembly - which the game no longer recieves!
Play the home nations for a WC - Play GB for Test matches. This is RL and this is what we know and want. Simples!

I grant there will always be a struggle if those countries are treated as being a loan facility for England.
My point is, if you qualify and play for a country, that should be that.

I agree, this is one aspect that football does better than our sport, it is a joke that players can just switch nationalities willie nilly, once you have played in a competatative match for a country then that should be the only country you can play for.
International rugby is a joke and will remain so until this problem is sorted.

| Congratulations to Fergi fo getting in. He can only have been chosen on his form at Wakefield, though politics does seem to count.
It's a shame that out of 14 teams in Super League, the only ones not represented in the two elite teams are Wakefield, Crusaders and Catalan.
Crusaders and Catalan have good reasons, not being based in England. It's a shame for us that we have no one seen to be worthy (when for me Murphy certainly is better than many in the Knights team.
Lets hope he can stake a claim to be added through the season.
And to a comment above about his speed. He may look like a bow legged cart horse whe he runs but there is no question that he is fast. He always outpaces his opposite number (usually when chasing back rather than getting the ball in space. I'd say before Penny came he was fastest we had.

| All 3 have plenty of ability but when they are bad, Ferguson, Ferres and Brough are about as bad as it gets.

garbage, brough at his worst has more chance of pulling a close game off than any half back we have at the club now.

Yes, Brough's only problem, when he played for Trinity, is he occasionally went missing in games, but very rarely had bad games.

| Brough did occasionally go missing but if anyone can tell me a half back that doesn't occasionally go missing i would be very surprised.
