| Quote: RebelRebel "As for administration - am I the only one who's thinking that maybe it won't be the panacea that some on here are claiming it will? Aside from the fact that no one seems to know what will happen regarding the remainder of the money due from the sale of Belle Vue, the thing that's made me wonder recently is this whole issue of the 350K we [ididn't get[/i from Yorkcourt because the Newmarket development went to a PI. And 350K wasn't the end of it, by all accounts.
So why were we due the money?
I may be wrong here - facts are not easy to come by - but I seem to recall someone claiming that it was Ted who bought part of the land (as greenbelt, or whatever it was designated as) and sold it to Yorkcourt. As development land, of course, it would have been worth considerably more than was paid for it - and this would have been the gamble. It would also account for the stadium tie-in.
Is this why the payments were due?
If we [ido[/i go into admininstration, Ted will no longer be chairman of the club. The Newmarket stadium development will no longer be his concern. The money for any development that takes place on the land (with or without stadium) will still be his, though (assuming he is in fact the former owner of the land). Now if you were Ted, what would you do?
I'm not saying this is deffo the case. I'm just building an argument on the basis of what's been mentioned here before. It seems a more credible explanation to me than the "sweetener" from Yorkcourt that had been put forward by some.
Do we really know what we're getting into here? That's the question.'"
I was bemused by the £350k from Yorkcourt intially - simple question, why would YC pay a "sweetener" to WT as they effectively had us over the proverbial barrel anyway?
It turns out that the money from YC relates to BV & would have been part of a deal that released Cala from paying what was outstanding on the original deal.
Whether Ted has or hasn't bought land at Newmarket I don't know, but the £350k related to an asset of WTRLFC Ltd rather than something the Ted would directly benefit from.

| Administration could spell the end of the club who is out there with money to put into a club with no ground after this season with little or no hope of SL rugby

If enough people sign up, the supporters trust?
If 5000 people joined and the membership fee was £20 it would give the trust £100k to play with, if it was raised to £50 it would result in £250k. I think those kind of figures would be reasonable to run a club at Championship level.

Well, if rumours are true then at least 2 if not 3 people. Also, why would you not have a ground, to stay in SL then Barnsley or Doncaster look likely until Newmarket and staying at Belle Vue in the NL1 would seem to be on the cards if not. The new owner may make the administrator an offer they can't refuse for Belle Vue, or if they are looking to sell Belle Vue on to others or if it is to be liquidated, then the longer the better, as land is only going to go back up in price and why would you not rent it back to the newly owned team until Newmarket or something else came along! The Administrator has a legal responsibility not only to keep and sell the company as a going concern, they also have to do everything they can to choose (if given a choice) who provides the best sustainable long term future for the company.

it wont be easy but hopefully we will still have a club and something to build on. we will allways have the fact we were never relegated from sl by finishing bottom of the league.

Barnsley would be risky Doncaster would be suicide. If we can stay at Belle Vue then bring on the championship, hell it's been a good run.

Yes they do, but it doesnt stop the HRMC going for it, if they are the major creditor ie 25% or more then im afaraid they have the call, and if they want to wind it up, then they can by stopping a CVA. The admin has then no option,

the new owner would have to have some good business history
