| Thought he would have made a good impact player on the bench ala Hendo but not to be unless Kear has the vision to do it this year.
Good luck JD!

| Quote: Dave K. "Think (and I might be wrong) but if moves to another club he loses his exemption from the non fed regulations.
If so he would find it hard to get a contract with another Sl club.'"
It is confusing but I believe that all players with an EU passport who were playing in the competition prior to when the non-federation regulations came into effect are exempt for their entire career in the UK, regardless if they switched clubs.

| I never left a Widnes game JD played in thinking I'd been short changed. One of Neil Kelly's worse decisions was letting him leave, but thankfully for Jason, it all turned out well for him at Trinity. Best regards to him and his family, especially my old E-mail mate Con.

He's had ups and downs at Trin as a player but as a bloke he commands respect, won't use the word Legend but he's not far off, the way he conducted himself after the loss of Adam and Leon speaks for itself, don't know him well enough to call him a mate but consider him to be a friend.
Spoke with Con after the Quins game and at Headingley. Top bloke.
I think he'll want to got out on a high and he'll not fail through lack of effort and sheer guts IMO.

| Now when most players know they are coming to the end of their tenure with a club they have been with for so long, its far too easy for them to rest on their laurels and just meander through the rest of the season like a tired river estury heading out to sea. However, I have every confidence that from now until the end of the season that JD will be putting his entire heart and soul into every performance, just like he has done since his arrival from Widnes in 2004.
As for the 2011 captaincy, well there's only two real candidates for the job.
1. Glenn Morrison - yes, he may be 34, but he has on the whole put his experience to good use this year and has been very influential.
2. Sam Obst - he has been with us since 2005, so has been around long enough not only to know and understand the set up within the club, but more importantly, has won the respect of his colleagues and fans alike.
One person who needn't bother sending in his CV for the job is Mr Cooke - yes after another inept performance yesterday, I wouldn't even trust him to sweep up the dressing room floor after training sessions and matches.
So back to Jason Demetriou and we must all salute a truly loyal and dedicated servant of this club, who shall never be forgotten.
We're gonna miss you JD.

Agree with all of that, top man on and off the pitch. Will be remembered for his committment to the cause and also for leading us through one of our darkest years last year . Last year for me was the true measure of the man leading the team through the tragedies and honouring Adams memory by giving his all for the shirt. Its a pleasure to have watched him and bigger pleasure to know him and his family. Lets all get behind his 3 month testimonial and show how much he has meant to us all.

Fantastic player for us a true 100%'er.
Sad to see him move on. I hope he can end his time with us with a playoff achievement.

| I've been a strong critic of JD over the last few seasons and wouldn't have complained if this decision had come a year or two ago, but have always maintained that he has been a great servant to the club. The memory that will last longest will be his run from inside our own in-goal area against Bradford during our run for survival - IMO that run is what guaranteed our survival, the game against Cas just rubber-stamped it.
JD, thanks for a great service to the club & all the best for the future.

| Do you reckon Leigh would have a chance of signing him, how many seasons do you reckon he's got left in him. Would he work well with Wobbie and Duffy?
