| Quote: crowt123 "back to tronc...doesn't seem the same player over the last couple of games, interest gone and not running or offloading like the first few games ! shame but no excuse for not fulfilling your t&c's old boy ! keep him until we receive something in return!'"
Totally agree with that; he looked like he couldn't really be ar*ed against Wigan, and that's disappointing from a professional who is, as you say, still under contract.
I also have little sympathy for the homesick wife story; two weeks ago he was in the press saying how well they were settling here - his words, iirc, were "happy at home, happpy on the pitch." Fast forward two weeks and his Mrs is trapped indoors against our arctic weather, wearing a cork hat and watching back to back episodes of Neighbours? I think not.
If we let the big fella go without adequete compensation, then we have once again been right royally rogered.

| apparently as the story goes flights are booked and its not down to homesick wife> its to do with the club not coming up with what was promised eg quality of accomodation etc. shouldnt we be looking for a quality replacement with all the money that doesnt get spent> transfer fees for brough and atkins, where does it all go??? come on ted give the supporters of wakefield trinity something to shout about and put your short arms in your deep pockets. 22 quid friday fair enough we won but dont take libertys to make a quick buck out of 8500 fans and not gives us anything in return. What looked like our most promising season for years is falling apart at the seams and by the look of it its down to greed!

If he leaves without Wakey getting any compensation, as has been suggested then you would have to think somethings a miss on the Wakey side.

| Simple fact is we should say 'Then off you go Shane if your'e homesick but we are keeping hold of your registration until a compensation deal is in place should you get a contract within the NRL'.
Thus if the Broncos want him that badly and he really wants to start earning again then its all down to the NRL club to sort it all out and not ourselves.

| As someone has already said - its only a few months left - just bear it out man.
If however he continues to play in a "lack lustre" manner, ship him out and bring back Stosic.
I agree with maintaining his registration but would this mean that we also had to pay his salary and would not have his quota space back?
It would be typical of us not to get compensation - as with Elima - as we think its "for the players own good". We need to think about the club, that's what's left, sod the players who have left the ship - we should think about what's remaining.

Sorry, but I don't get this. I think we do pretty well in trying to get the best deals in terms of compensation for departing players, and I don't for one moment think we'd let Tronc head back for free if we could get something out of it. But you can't get what's not there to be had. Maybe there was a get-out clause in his contract that enabled us to sign him in the first place? (I don't know whether this is the case, btw, just speculating.)

| Bye Bye Tronc, never ever have I been so angry with the way a player has conducted himself. I agree with many a poster who suggest his wifes home sick bullpoop is just a front and gives him the ideal opportunity to get a dream move to the biggest club in his home state.
FWIW I think if he was completely honest with the club and the people who pay his wages and said 'this is an opportunity of a lifetime, a boy hood dream' then he would have many peoples respect. The way he has masked his desire to join Brisbane behind reasons that his wife isn't settled is just pure immaturity. For a lad who is 28, 6ft 4 and 115kg(ish) you thought he would be man enough to go about his business in a more respectable manner.
As for you Tronc, not getting personal or anything but im sure the Broncos will release you at the end of the year, you was not in there plans when the Cowboys released you last season and when they return to full fitness you will probably be playing reserve grade. I just hope for your sake that you are retained by them because if you rejoin a team in the ESL you are bound to be the subject of abuse from many a supporter.

That is on the verge of getting personal, and is petty imho!
On a side note, l also think you are wrong, he was one of the better Props in the 2nd half of last year, and the cowboys did not want to lose him, but had made the decision earlier on.
