Then we signed Saxton back for the next season. IIRC he got a few calls of Judas directed at him for a short time.

| Just a little longer to add those stories - please.
Plenty of replies - mostly one-liners - which doesn't fill much!
Hey - I thought there'd be some corkers in this lot!

| my memory is the last game of the season that we won to stay up and Korki was crying at the end with all the emotion of the game and the fact that he was leaving cos he never really wanted to go . HE and his teammates had just played the game of their lives to help us stay up and he came over to where we were stood on the corner put his arms round me cying and said "thanks for all you do for the club sue" I was humbled as we were thanking him for all he had done. That is what a great man he is, how he loves our club and why now he is home, hopefully to stay.
( thankfully I was not at the 80 nil thrashing so do not have that nightmare in my memory bank)
Other memory is of course Ronnie Gibbs...wishing on a star and Johnny T describing how "we like it 'ard"

| Lots of memories but in the relegation decider I have a great memories.
My best mate is a Cas fan and we always sat together and argued all the way through the game...but often I had to be the gracious one because Cas won more often than not.
The relegation decider he wouldn't sit with me, saying he didn't think our friendship could stand it. (He was my best man and I was his?!?! so they were strong words)
It took him a good two weeks before he returned any calls, and I was very "understanding".
Also, I had been going on to anyone that would listen (and some that wouldn't) that JD was the best player we had and that he was a big part of the reason why we were in a position to stay up. Smith had taken captaincy off him and I was pretty vociferous that I thought it was wrong and JK was right to give it back when he arrived.
I'd already been telling my dad and nephew about the little things he was doing to make us great when he broke down the right wing towards the terrace. I stood up and screamed at the top of my voice "I love him! I love him! Then had to sheepishly turn to my wife and say "but not as much as I love you obviously". It is a story often told at family gatherings as you can imagine.

| I was walking through the cemetary going to the Cas match, in front of me were two couples also going to the match. One of the girls started laughing and said "I hope there is nobody behind me, I've just farted", she turned around and there I was and obviously knew what she had done. She turned red and I just smiled, after all what could I say to such a lady.

Stood at Belle Vue after we beat Warrington easy and shouting Come on cas! for the one and only time in my life..waiting for any sort of info from the willows.People had radios, mobile phones, etc I just walked around watching people then came the ripple of excitement as the final hooter draw closer..Cas were winning, could they hold on??
Then people were jumping up and down all over the pitch untill the players came out and Brad Davis had a bottle of champagne to 'celebrate' I dont ever want to go through that again! Cas fan for THAT day, never again

No we weren't - many thanks. I think your win had a little to do with the play offs rather than keeping us up but we will be forever grateful.

I remember - I was stood on halfway line with another Trinity fan and a Cas fan (who had been supremely confident of a big Cas win) and we never used to beat them back then, so when we went 2 scores up at about 15 - 20 mins, I was givin him some proper stick and this old Cas fan behind us came over and reassured him that it was only "early days" and not to worry!
Great match that was - stayed after the game and must have been about the last Wakey fan in the ground and ended up smoking a massive cigar outside the Tiger Den, very tipsy and also managed to get a Cas Lass's phone number. (Never called her tho, lol)

| Remember the last day of the season in 77/78 season with just 1 minute to go the score was 17 17 and my Grandfather decided we were going for the bus. Latter on that night the RL scores were on TV and we had lost 17 20 to a last gasp Bruce Burton try gutted
