| For me taking two was obvious choice.
You're 8 points up with ten minutes remaining. 2 extra points would have given you a ten point lead, which means that Leeds have to score two converted tries to win regardless. 8 points, means they only had to convert one to win or none to draw.
You'd have got the ball back too and therefore been able to run it up again and just drill it out in there half.
Ah well, unlucky boys. Leeds = lucky bleeders.

Wakey played some quality rugby and Peterson stood out for working his butt off all night long, even when he was hearing birds tweeting around his head. All that effort and yet no result. Such a damn shame. I was ho by the end of the match, shouting you guys on. ]You so deserved to win.
What was wrong with Ganson tonight I don't know but there should have been two yellows for Leeds, not just one. And to give Wakey offside at such a crucial point when he hadn't given Leeds the knock on just moments before was a disgrace IMO.
And we won't mention the usual forward pass try given to Leeds. There seems to be one in every match this season.]
Two things stand out though
Change the record will you

| Bibey is awful, with 3 minutes to go there centre took a drive and Bibey pulled him forward about 10 metres, and got them into a good attacking position!

You lost me right there! Not here to gloat but to praise the Wakey effort. You deserved the points on balance. I just want to add what a class act John Kear is. The after-match interview you could see how much it meant to him but the joke he cracked at the end was fantastic! Eddie asked him if he would be able to sleep tonight after that and he quickly replied 'It depends who I'm in bed with!" Top bloke!

You've not watched Trinity much. Chances of them regaining the inevitable short kick off are very slim. Two points often results in a 4 point deficit.

Get your facts right we were 8 points ahead taking two at that point was not the right option hind sight is great but i agree with putting the pressure on the issue was giving away a penalty in possession for the crossing thats unforgiveable.

Even so, it would have required Leeds to have scored two converted tries. If they miss one, you still get a draw.

| Risky stratergies are fine when your 20 or more points ahead, or you have nothing to lose.
However it's worth remembering that a team will take some beating if it opts to take the controlled positive outcomes. EG 2 points at crucial times of the game. Kear knew that, and signalled it down clearly.
Unfortunately Drew or Broughy (Whoever it was), knew better, and took a risk that didn't pay off.
A 10 pt difference, the ball back from the kick off, Leeds in pieces, 8 or so minutes on the clock ain't a bad position to be in!
Come the end of the year when this is just a statistic, people will be asking for Kear's head on a plate. No-one will recall when his key team players took it upon themselves to ignore his orders.
As an outside bet, I'd think that Broughy or Drew will get a rollocking on the back of this.

| Any team who doesn't win the game with a 10-2 penalty count in their favour needs to seriously look at themselves.

Yes but sometimes its the timing of the penalties that can be crucial. The offside Leeds got with less than 5 minutes left after knocking on, was definitely a "gamebreaker" had that not been given we would have had the ball and probably seen the game out.
Also thought that Leeds should have had someone else binned after webb, when they were penalised 4 times in the space of a minute

Jamie Jones Buchanon lost his rag completely at one stage. Wakey were unlucky that he wasn't given 10 to cool off.

| It's easy to say the 2 points lost us the game after the fact. Broughy made a decision. Could have been a try anyway, they had a man off, and it ate up 4 minutes of time before they got the ball back.
How was he to know Atkins was going to wave Senior through for a try.

Surely Broughy (or possibly Drew?) has to take the blame for (apparently) ignoring his coach? If we had scored he would have been jack the lad, but we didn't so he needs to shoulder the blame in my opinion.
