Quote: upthecats "Used to be great when you could watch the academy play before the main game, certainly beats the dross we have to put up now in the lead up to kick-off. Why did they stop playing before the main game.

Remember the season the lads got to the final, we set off early to every game, even all the away ones to watch the lads and they were a great bunch to watch.

Groups of lads together like that only come round once a blue moon, and how unfortunate they were to come up against arguably one of the strongest academy sides ever in Leeds that year.'"

I'd say there's a bunch like them now, some real quality right throughout the team.

doesn't make them all bad players but you can tend to see the ones that want to go in for the thuggery and them that are quality among also rans

so that's two newcomers that have come and tasted something a bit different

Kain played well as did forward kyle, some nice passing across the whole line, the number 5 is a real speedster. Was impressed with the centre that didnt look like atkins
Led to believe its Carl Gibsons son.

Great game and what a defence. Nice to see the line moving up together.
First team take note. Would have been nice to have the scoreboard working. I ran out of fingers and before anyone says it was announced on the PA system this is no good for a deaf person!!!!

Good result for your young uns but please dont read too much into it, our Academy are very inexperienced and young this year - not to take anything away from Wakey - you can only beat whats in front of you !!

We can and we did, do we read much into the fact that we are top of the table?

your right every now and again the is a team that becomes unbeatable, we are luck enough to have a good side but we are not the only ones warrington, wigan, cas, hull kr and bradford are all in the same mixing pot, its nice to see that there are more turning up to these games than just parents and friends when I played

Speaking with a few of the Hudds players, apparently in there eyes you had won the game before even a ball was kicked, they just about to a man dropped there arises in the dressing room prior to the game kicking off.

Sign of a good team when you have beat the opposition as they are too scared prior to a ball being kicked, coaches need a big wrap for that.

was that the final when Broughy etc played ?
I prefer the Academy games to be on a Saturday or weekday evening. If they are before the first team game it means a kick off of 12.30 far too early to be there when its 5.15 when first team game ends.

We had that feeling when our lads was out and ready to play and the huddersfield side seemed late in making their appearance, we commented on whether they was going to turn up icon_wink.gif

it does give other sides the fear of what is to come
