for the second week running cas panthers u9s will miss this weeks fixture due to their opponants oulton raiders forfiting the game due to them not been ready for the new rules.

this really is annoying knowing that every team was put in the same boat with the new rules. icon_sad.gif

good luck to stanley u9s who ever they play. icon_wink.gif

too late in the day when they called off the game "thursday night" they did offer to play at last years u8s rules but having spent the past three weeks teaching my players the new format this would only lead to confusion for my players as you cant play one set of rules one week another the next.

i dont entirely blame oulton raiders totally has the rule changes were brought in very late and with very little time to adjust compared to u10s who are playing the same rules but they have had 12 months to prepare compared to our three weeks.

but has i say all teams are in the same boat and only playing will edjucate the players and find out if they can cope which im sure all the kids will do has they usually come up with answers if you ask enough questions of them, its easy to rap kids in cotton wool but sometimes you after grasp the nettle and have confidence in their ability but we all dont think the same do we. icon_wink.gif

the easiest way for the kids to learn is to be put into a match situation. I bet your guys are chomping at the bit. Thank s for the good luck wishes mate Stanley are at East Leeds this week always a toughie.

Stanley Rangers beat Methley today 20-12 which I thought was a even game at 14-12 it looked like they was going to come back, but managed it in the end.
Methley then decided to go home after the match, and have put a complaint in, I don't know the the full facts of their complaint so it would be wrong for me to voice my opinions, what I have heard that they complained about the ref icon_eek.gif nothing new there, no it wasn't klien icon_lol.gif but a young 13yr old trying to learn the game, is this the way we bring on the young refs now icon_rolleyes.gif
I do think tho they embarrassed their club by taken the actions they did, all the effort put into the after match meal has gone to waste, the kids have learn that if they don't win just go home and sulk, parents eh can we all remember its for the kids why we do this not us.

try scorers was matty, adam, sam, tom

the awards went to
tom was man of the match
ben was top tackler
geogre for his work in the pack
matty got magic moments ( now this was a magic moment he scored the first try nearly the full length of the field to put them 4-0, this after he saved a certain try from one of their fastest players )

well one to the lads for putting in a fantastic performance

Lock lane used to "walk" after every game, strange but when you went to them they always made you welcome.

7-1 somethings never change, congrats to the 8s . with any luck the 9s will get a game next week. east leeds were a bit shocked about the rules but we knew weeks ago about them.
