Liked the view from the West Terrace om Trinity TV.

I'm happy with this one, typical pre season game IMO.

Yeah it was a good game to be fair. Think we showed some good play on both sides of the ball, just not quite clicking (as to be expected) and I feel a lot more confident about full back position after Jowitts masterclass.

I have to call out Crowther.
He was better than just good in defense. He really shook people when he tackled them.
He had a role with ball in hand too but his defense was top notch.

Really has been worth the investment and if he can get an opportunity, he'll go very well.
As you say, great defence and he's no slouch for a forward either.

Last year when we beat Huddersfield away is where I really noticed his defensive dominance, didn't add much going forward but everyone has something to work on. Can see him coming in handy at times this year.

Agreed, looks to have packed a bit more on as well in the off season which I think with his style of play can only benefit him, hopefully he takes his chances in 2019, we have a big squad with a lot of quality but he seems to work very hard and I believe his chance will come.

It's really great to see our home grown ones coming good, particularly pleased for young JC who must have had dark days last season.

Thats true but it's the dark days that make the man. It's funny how often players who are hailed at a young age and get their breaks far to soon tend to squander their careers - Westerman is a great example. They end up with a sence of entitlement.

Where as in our case all our youngsters have had to fight, TJ was about to call it a day when we gave him his shot, Jowitt has been up and down like a yoyo but hangs on in there, as you say Batchelor has hardly been a walk in, Batchelor is an odd one in that his talent was obvious once we signed him but I don't recall any great fanfare when we did. Best of the lot is Woody, took him years to really get noticed.

I'm sure Crowther and his dad would have preferred an easier ride but class will always find it's way through.

Seems Chester wasn`t overly impressed with what he saw, reading his interview on Express website he states that we are not where we thought we were and we have a lot of work to do.

Couldnt go on sunday due to lad been away in warrington in a barla cup.good to see some positives come out of game and although chezzy says hes not too happy would we really want him to come out after a friendley and say he was over moon id say not as there always be things to work on good coaching and reaction in my view.
Also glad to see jordan get alot od praise.ive not always been his biggest fan but would love to see him have a great season i thought he went well at leeds in a postion i can only guess he wont of played much.

Yeah, I watched his interview after the game. Tbh I'm glad he thinks that way, even though to me we looked like we have done in the last couple of pre-seasons generally at this stage, especially when we've had mass interchanges.
Better he said what he did no matter what he thought, rather than we're exactly where I want us to be at this stage - more reasons to keep pushing the lads.
