| If he was staying at Cas he would not have reacted that way. And IMO the way he reacted after his 2nd seemed to be that he is defo staying at Wakey.

| Defensively he is terrible but liked his passion today. Maybe he might be better off at centre

| Centre is the hardest position to play defensively so I really don't get what you're trying to say here!

| Well he'd have probably a 2nd rower and winger next to him plus a full back behind him. He's poor at one on ones and at the high ball so with players round him think he'd be ok. Attacking wise think he's very good. just an opinion

| Part of Wire's resurgence was down to Mathers organisation of the defence, his individual defence isn't as bad as people make out eg 2010 CC final, Mathers defence completely nullified Leeds and was unlucky to not pick up Lance Todd that day.
Mathers is a cracking player but he's a confidence player and when it's shot or he's a little under pressure his form suffers for it.
You make a defensive error as a hooker, and you'll probably have a prop or a second row tidy it up, if they then miss you have your fullback. Fullback as we all know is all or nothing, you're a hero or a zero.
He's a great bloke to have in camp, top pro.

| Brilliant today. Always talking to his teamates driving them on. He was stood unde the sticks waiting for the return kick egging everyone on to be ruthless.I think we should all send big love over the common to them for paying him to play for us.

I said something similar a few weeks ago after he'd had a 'mare and was getting a lot of stick on here.
Overall, Mathers has been a great signing for us and despite a few wobbles, has added some much-needed experience and professionalism; from what I hear, he's become a real club man and can't do enough in terms of helping the other players.
If he's playing for a contract, he did himself no harm at all today - cracking performance.

| Seen Mathers have games where he would be certain for the england jersey and then others he would struggle to get the barla jersey. He does get the other players going and overall he has been a plus for us.Miss a tackle on the wing or fullback and its more times than not vital to the score miss one in the forwards and more times than not its covered by another player.Would I sign Mathers depends on what he wants but yes as it could be good to help bring a youngster on and who else is out there thats any better available at the moment. What the club has to look at is the player you sign any better than what you already have if no stick as you are.Wakey have in the past sold/let good players go and then brought someone in who is not as good as the one let go and we need to get away from that.Get Mathers on our books no one out there thats better available so why not.Unless thats what Agar has got Lee Smith for to play fullback next season.

| Mathers could of had a hatrick that would have been sweet under the sticks. Sykes needs to back his pace more allways looking for a pass when he makes a break.
