Never in all my time as a Trinity supporter have we been in the top flight with less than a quarter of the season to go and had a 50% win record. This is the best season in my lifetime. The McNally season was the previous best when I think we won 5 from 6 of the last games.
So you will forgive me if I don't join the clarion call for JKs head. Whilst you might think my comments are based on him saving us 3 years ago - naturally I'd disagree - they are based on 30 years.
There is a difference between recognising the positive influence JK is having on our club, cellebrating the successes and saying that JK does everything right because clearly he does not.
How about a little balance RDM?'"
100% agree. you will hear me and my mates questioning some of kears decisions before and during most games, but this is done whilst ultimately knowing that he is the man we want in charge and that he has and is taking us forward. the last thing i want to happen to our club at this point is for kear to leave/be sacked. that would be suicide imo

| I should have added RDM - I think your first three paragraphs are not far off the mark - just not the bit about JKs P45!

I've been following Trinity for 20-odd years myself, so I've seen plenty of bad times & the good too. All I want is year-on-year progression, which I think we aren't seeing at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, I hope JK leads us into the play-offs & if he does I hope to see him lead us even further next year. But if he doesn't take us to the playoffs this year, it would mean a worse league position than last year & that clearly gives good reason for looking at the non-playing side of things as well as the playing staff.

| Sure RDM I agree that failure of the club to progress should merit the none playing side being looked at - but its a hell of a jump from looking at your structures to sacking the only coach the club has had in 30 years with a proven track record of winning stuff (allbeit elsewhere).

| Half of the time I can't even be bothered to respond to posters on this board, we have had a good season, two intense games in Leeds and Saints and all of a sudden if we don't get to the play offs its game over for Kear.
What is the obsession with constant improvement? It's not that easy with a club like us, the only time we'll be able to be a top club is if we get a new stadium, and are drawing in 8-10k every week, making more money for better signings and renewing player contracts.
Everyone wants the club to improve, but its so hard when teams around us are playing in their shiney new stadiums, with their sugar daddys, and 30-40% more ticket sales than us. We can play well on our day, granted, but how can you expect us to turn up every week? Other clubs are also striving for the same goals as us, its a tough competition this season.
I'd love to see someone do as well as Kear has with Wakey, he's been a miracle worker for us, so I don't know how anyone can have the cheek to have a pop at him in the same manner as the OP.

| Whilst the opening poster is way over the top with this ultimatum about Kear and the playoffs. he does raise a valid point about players playing in their prefered positions - as many on here have mentioned through the season. I know for many games we have had to make do and mend, with makeshift line ups, Demetriou appears to play his best in the 3/4, and Grix yet again showed himself as wortthy for a run at 6 - rather than reshuffling the pack after an hour and putting each of them into their (in my opinion) most influential position.
Grix needs a run at 6, and Demetriou needs to be back in the centres - how we make provisions for this is a moot point, but it should happen in my opinion.

indeed. again for me today we lost shape and balance when we had both hookers on the field and thus not spelling them properly. for one set we had obst and drew stood in the attacking line with grix and jd at acting half. why? i'm sure it contributed to our apparent lack of direction throughout the match, we didn't play to any defined plan and didn't lay any real platform consistently

I would move him to second row right now, got the strength and power lacks the distribution, today there was an ideal opportunity to pass the ball to murphy and open up the cas defense but it was blown away by him keeping the ball

I would move him on and put his wage to better use.

not for me. you mention murphy and maybe he will go on to be a success in the centres, i certainly hope he develops and gets his chance. however on todays showing he's not there yet he got dominated in the tackle pretty much every time. i accept he's not played first team for a while
