It's about economics, we now can't afford Arona, which happens at a club like ours.
A bit like when we signed Grix and Wilkes from Widnes when they went into liquidation, after their deals were up we couldn't offer what the wanted.
Thompson is a local product, who goes about his business unspectacularly and is a solid performer.
Would I replace Arona with Thompson? Depends on how high Aronas quota spot is valued and if we're in for George King, what's the difference between him and Thompson?

King will be cheap compared to Thompson and will be a project player, with real potential. Thompson will be expensive and his abilities are well known.

In a Superleague with at least 3 clubs genuinely struggling all year, ask yourself why no-one else has been in for him.
