IF they were to remain in the company and we were relegated, surely, the value/ purchase price of the club would be reduced further.
Therefore, as far as MC & Co are concerned, we have to stay up to give them any decent chance of a return on their investment ?'"
I thought JM said they weren't seeking payment on loans.

Yes but loans they have made personally or including any loans they have taken out in the business name. What about the loan for example that was taken from the government scheme was this part of the 2M the club contributed to the redevelopment and are they going to continue paying it back or will it remain a business debt for the club to pay.

| Quote: PopTart "If you are talking director loans, they stay as liabilities on the balance sheet while ever the loan is outstanding to be paid
If its agreed that the loan is not to be repaid it simply stays as an asset in either the item that was bought or cash and isn't listed as a loan anymore.....and the balance sheet looks more healthy by that amount.
I assume that will show in the next accounts if it goes that way.'"
It was a massive gesture and a huge help to the club when Andrew Glover chose to wipe off the £800,000 directors loan that the club owed him when Carter & Brereton took over!

I'm sure they are not goingvto take that on as well. That's down to Ellis.
If Ellis is expecting them to take all the loans then to be honest I could take over.

I was just pointing out that what JM was saying did not relate to all loans they have arranged which was indicated in your post above.

Yes, he did.
What people forget too, is that he was also on the board of directors for around 2 years prior to taking over.
He will have been party to those decisions that were made during that time, which mainly led to the clubs financial plight, such as slashed season tickets and outsourcing the catering.
Weren't season tickets for 2012, something like £100, which you could split over 2 months, and in 2013, they were £125.
Just think of the lost revenue.
I'm also pretty sure he was happy posting on here, at the time with how many had been purchased. I think the numbers quoted at that sort of cost back then would equate to around 1600 adult tickets at todays prices.
Did he speak up, or was he happy to go along with the ride?

| Wow! All of a sudden Glover sounds like he was a great owner. It must have all been a bad dream.
If only he'd stayed in charge I guess we'd be flying.

I’m not saying he was a great owner - I think he appointed the wrong people around him but as I recall if he hadn’t stepped in at the time we were on the verge of being wound up.
The bloke deserves some credit IMO

He was a saviour at the time for sure. We were owing something like £300k to the taxman, had lost ownership of the ground and the respect/trust of local businesses. Probably because Ted did the same?
Were we really much different when Glover bailed out?

I think the point being made is that Glover put lots of money into the club but his mistake was not overseeing the running of the club because that was left to Elston. He trusted Elston and that was his mistake but he certainly put his money into the club and when the tihs hit the fan he made it easier for Carter and Brereton by completely writing off over £800k and walking away. Had he not done that then I think the club would have been unsalvagable in its current form, we would certainly have been demoted to League 1 and been left a shell of a club

I agree. It's easy to forget how our previous owners saved the club each time.
It is also a warning bell for Ellis.
Picking his operations manager is a big part of whether his tenure will be a success.
