I read his autobiography and found that the chapter relating to his time with Trinity would appear to have been a happy experience for him which is good to know. What I did find, however, which surprised me somewhat, was that his account of his younger days with the Wigan youth teams and the Wigan first team he came across as being rather boastful and a b it full of himself. There again he probably knew all along what most of us discovered later, and that he actually was a rare talent indeed. I believe in his later years he became a "Born Again Christian". A genuine star of the game.
