| I thought he was OK but I wonder how many of the 50:50 calls were lost as a result of input from that old fart linesman.
The markers not square at the ptb is so inconsistent though. I could see many instances were both Wakey and Wire got away with it but then got picked up at other times.

Having said that, it was Campbell's first SL game and it was ok.
Wire looked offside for most of the first half, certainly moving up quickly and as the half went on, they were getting off their line quicker and quicker. There were some plays when thy were almost in our defensive line by the time the ball was played
It's called line speed if you are a top end side and off side for anyone else.

Thanks for that. But, there is line speed and there is moving early.
Line speed is ok, moving early is a penalty (apart from yesterday)

| I didn't realise at the start of the game that this was he fist super league game.
During the game, I thought he was poor, especially around the ruck, and also thought that the Kirmo sin binning was harsh. I was stood pretty much in line with the trip, and I think more than anything, Kirmo was caught off balance, and left a trailing leg.
That said though with it being his first super league game, he was no worse than either Silverwood or Bentham that have been poor for about 10 years.

| Not square at the ptb seems to be fairly loose these days - it seems to me that if the first pass goes wide and the not square markers can't have any influence on what happens next, they tend to let it go; if on the other hand the DH darts forward and brings the not square markers into play, they tend to get penalised.
I'm actually not ok with that - just as I'm not ok with the way the ball is 'played,' the amount of messing about that goes on in the ruck or the new habit of taking steps off the mark before playing the ball; I would very much like to see a clear statement from the RFL at the end of this season aimed at cleaning up aspects of the rules that have been allowed to slip based on the increased pushing of the envelope by coaches and players. The game would be better for it - and in the case of the tackle - safer for players.

| Bishop getting binned, whilst still down receiving treatment was ok.
It allowed us time to get back onside and set our line.
It didn't work this time but seemed liked a good ploy at the time.
As for Kirmond, looked like a deliberate trip, just hope all players from now on get binned for tripping.

| Back i the day a trip was a straight sending off. No sin bin then and no argument about tripping. I remember the Trinity centre Jack Marston doing it at Wigan and he walked. It should be brought in as a straight red card. Don't know about Danny, didn't see it.

| Just watched the highlights and the incident with England and Gidley - I don't think a proper punch was landed through the whole thing; plenty of swinging, but everything looked to be chest and shoulders. Hopefully they'll both get off with sin bin sufficient, and that'll be the end of it.

He was also one of the worst referees ever...he was so bad it was unreal..... only marginally worse Than the disgraceful Billy Thompson who was more of a cheat than bad.
that said we could never have Karl Kirkpatrick and people said he was a great ref...I thought he was a bit obnoxious and let loads of penalties go unpunished, which others seemed to like... but missing out on Lindop was certainly a plus point for supporting Wakey.

For those of us that can remember my friend, that distinction must go to a certain Mr Hebblethwaite from York the most biased and anti Wakefield Trinity referee in living memory
