Who else was available to us in addition to Agar?

Brian Noble certainly has a good CV and I'm sure he wasn't in a coaching role when Agar was drafted in...

Thinking on...so was Paul Cullen.

Well folks we can argue all we like about the ability of Agar, buts lets get down to the real root of the problem with our side.

We all accept we had a short period to recruit players and coaching staff. We all accept we were looking at the bottom of the barrel for options.

However someone with half a brain cell would have at least seen the damage being done by expensive 3 year contracts being dished out to all and sundry. Sack Agar if you will but that still dosn't alter the problem that most of this overpaid and under performing squad are tied up for the next three seasons. The club may have made a huge amount of progress on the commercial front but the way the rugby side has been run is the worst I have ever seen during our time in SL.

Quote: Shifty Cat "Your opinion obviously but man talk about an unreal amount of hyperbole in that last paragraph, what exactly where you expecting out of this year, especially when you look at our squad and compare it against the teams around us like Cas, Salford, Hull KR & London it's no better and those team have been together for longer, then compare it against the top 6, a lot weaker. Add to that the seasons coming up to half way through and there's plenty to happen yet but your writing it off as the most disappointing in 30 years, wtf.

I think a quite a few of our fans have set themselves up for disappointment, with completely unrealistic aspirations imo, you could see it happening when we had that predictions thread and most had us down for 8th and above.'"

OK, the last paragraph might have been worded a bit over the top but I was still mad after last nights performance, the sentiment is still the same. What I was expecting this season is a team that is at least better than last season. At least a team playing with pride like we was for a decent period of last season. I expected us to compete with Hull KR and London. A 10th place finish would been ok for me as long we had at least given the 8th spot a challenge. That expectation is based on Elstons expectation at the fans forum pre season. I'm afraid we have no excuses for putting our worst performing team in Super League history this season.

I don't know what happened behind the scenes but I thought it was poor form from the club to not make an attempt to keep some of the departed players. We had put the hard work into George, Murphy, Gledhill and Howarth Yet again here we are re-building from scratch when we had no need to. Agar doesn’t seem to be that interested in building on Wilde and Davey’s first full season of SL rugby. As for Moore, well the guy never got a chance prove himself, I can’t see him been any worse/better than John and certainly cost a lot less plus free up a quota spot. If we had re signed some of these the less we would of relied on giving 3 year contracts to Journey men!

We have given that up!! I know exactly what you are going through and it's not nice, fingers crossed you can start getting some results. From what I've seen your players seem to be trying and don't give up.

Spoken to a few fans who turned out last night and you could say they ain't happy, it won't be long before the home attendance suffers.

There can be NO EXCUSE for not playing Johnson, if stories are true he's off then good luck to him, he's well off getting away from this farce.

Hull lost 3500 fans off its average attendance in 4 years under Agar also we had one of the worst attacking records in the league.

Picking players out of position and baffling interchanges well get used to it, it's Agar trademark.

We've scraped two home wins by clinging on despeartely at the end. We have a squad costing nearly double the mob we turned out last season and they will be lucky to win as many games. The sad part is this lot are all tied in that long I can't see how the club will sell anything next season.

I have been a season ticket holder for years and If the club try a dish this load of dross up again next season I am thinking of not bothering. So I suspect many others will feel the same and the financial implications of our crazy recruitment could take the club down, sad times.

There are worse things in life too many doom and gloomers on here that are a minority in the big picture.

Lokk at the club as a whole the whole place from top to bottom has been going through a change management process. The club rightly so is looking at the longer term, thats where the youth set up comes along, this is starting to bear fruition and we are now able to hang onto our young up and coming players.

Off the pitch I dont the club has ever been so fibrant in all the years I have been watching the club and thats many years trust me.

Since wembley in the late 70's we have hardly touched the books for trophies etc an odd final here and there, so dont harp on about the club as if its been successful and now isnt anymore thats just tripe.

Just like society the minority on here have no patience, this club is 12 months old or just over since the previous regime left what do you all expect. This time last year we were looking forward to going to Whitehaven etc but hey for those that could make it they went to langtree park last night.

£100 is great value win or lose give your heads a shake and come back to reality.

I see where you are coming from, but the £100 season ticket isn't really the issue. The hardcore of fans who would of bought anyway are just getting it cheaper, and are more likely to stick with it no matter. It is the pay on the gate fans who won't be retained. Additionally, if the product is simply unenjoyable, how many of those who took up the season ticket offer because it was a bargain will lose interest? At £100 quid, they can afford to walk away and go back to doing whatever they used to do on a Sunday afternoon.

To be honest and I am being absoluteley sincere here I think my mum could have at least matched Agars dismal record. She could have cut up the oranges for half time and said "good luck boys try your best". With the group of talented players we have they should be top half at the least and I seriously believe that RA makes them into a shambolic bunch of nomads.

Well said.

Its quite simple to understand, walk ups in particular want entertainment and they don't really care about the finer points.

90% on here will turn up no matter what but like i said earlier some are questioning whats going on and even though they are a minority icon_smile.gif they are as loyal as hell.
