So the Hudds player we want is Andy Raleigh?

| Aye, it's very disappointing a player of this quality is leaving and even more so before we all thought he possibly / inevitably would with perhaps a big final send off. However, if we can get the best for the club for perhaps in preparation of next yr and keeping the side stable this year, it's got to be considered. However you could argue this season is then a write-off with only 6 games gone.
Tough decision, and probably any decision the club make will be wrong for both ends of the spectrum.

| Like most on here I'm disappointed Broughy is going, but I was disappointed when Bob Haigh left, I was disappointed when big Neil left, I was disappointed when Toppo left, I was disappointed when Willie Poching left, I was disappointed when Ellis left.
But...... Wakefield Trinity still remained (been a couple of near do's though!!). Players come and go these days mostly chasing the brass, some for a better challenge (Ellis) and some into semi retirement (Union).
I reckon we're in a better position than we've been in for many a year and whilst I thank Danny for his efforts in the RW&B, in a years time it will be "Danny who?"
Keep the faith (in JK)

Aye, this concerns me greatly too. Look at how we have declined in the last 3 years or so, losing such lookers as:
Danny Brough
Paul Riley
Dave March
Brad Drew
Paul March
Come on Ted, get new contracts on the table for Richard Moore and quick, also Sean Gleeson to keep the Ginner quota up - thats decined over the past couple of seasons too.
Is Cookie in the same league? Like for like munter or a step backwards?

Could add Nathan Wood and Ben Westwood to that list also Solomona and possibly Sid Domic but admittedly he was in the twilight years of his career, still disappointed he left though.

I know you're not saying 'it IS over', but I would challenge any individual to go and stand in front of the players, John Kear, Paul Broadbent, Ted or any of our directors, and tell them that the season is over.
The season is long since over - but it is challenging. No one expected the Newton thing; no-one thought we'd be without Paul Johnson and no-one (well a lot of folk) expected Paul King to have played just a few minutes - yet we are 6th in the table, have beaten LEEDS at home for the 1st time in god knows how long and are about to bring one of the best long ball merchants in the game to the club!!!!!
FFS come on guys. The club didn't choose any of these issues - but they are doing their best to make good and prosper - in spite of them. If the club was run on the attitude shown by some people in this thread, then we would have reason to pack it all in. Day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year - it's a bloody struggle to survive - yet we do - and flourish!
Chappy - shake yourself down under a cold shower and force yourself to smile - you will soon feel the glow of being a member of this wide and varied family and the fight will return to your body as if it never left.
No single player was ever better than this club or it's supporters!
We are Wakefield, no-one likes us, and we don't give a "ÂŁ$%!

| This little speech seems quite apt at this time TRB............
4 June 1940
"I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.
At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of His Majesty's Government-every man of them. That is the will of Parliament and the nation.
The British Empire and the French Republic, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength.
Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail.
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."
