Quote: 60sCat "I have never seen another club where there are so many "supporters" who want to complain about something or another. Perhaps its our lack of success over the years on the field but it really is demoralising and depressing. Its as though all they all get out of the wrong side of bed EVERY morning.'"

I think some, myself included, want this club to be the very best it can be. It can't be perfect, nothing is, but it also can't help challenging them on issues as the lack of that led to the utter mess the old regime were on certain (not all) issues.

This forum is not the right medium to discuss issues directly with the club and/or it's employees, but a place to discuss the issues surrounding the club, on and off the pitch.

Although I respect your right to discuss this situation the same as the rest of us, your bit with Davide Longo certainly is personal. Criticising someone and their performance in their job in a public domain is very personal, and takes it even further when you keep it going when he asks you to talk in private.

It is detracting from your other points as I don't think you have one poster supporting you in the way you are treating Davide. Disrespectful at best.

And lets get this all in perspective. You wouldn't have heard anything about any of this before he took on the role. The communication at the club has its flaws there is no doubt but it is a quantum leap improvement from where it was before.

Davide used his position to emphasise his point and as such brought criticism of himself into the fair game arena as far as I'm concerned in doing so. He can't pick and choose when he's the GM when he uses a message board to communicate with fans.

The debacle that we witnessed on Sunday is fair game for criticism as are the people who arranged it are they not? Do I not have the right to question what reasonable measures have been taken to deal with root cause - his relative silence on these points speaks volumes. I'm quite sure he'd prefer to patronise me in private rather than have the failure of this decision and it's subsequent botched implementation racked over on here, but that's tough. Is he running with the hounds or the hare? I have nothing against Davide, in fact he has a reputation of being open and approachable, however it's going to take a leap of faith on my part to accept that his posts on here endorse him in the position of GM.

It's all about opinions, my opinion is not universally held and I accept that - just as others should.

Quote: violetrwb "I don't have an issue with you as such, I don't like the way that you as general manager have imposed this change, the way you have failed to communicate it, and the fact that you have fronted up to fans in such a blunt manner on an internet message board. I think that all of the above is indicative that you're not up to the job as general manager. That is of course a subjective opinion and not based on any personal dealings with you whatsoever.

Another poster, Theboyem, referred to you as "poor Davide". In my opinion this speaks volumes about how you are regarded; a nice lad but not a general manager.'"

Obviously this is you're opinion but it's the polar opposite of what myself, family & friends have experienced dealing with Davide. Yes they got things wrong this time but imo they gets a hell of a lot more right than wrong and every company makes mistakes. On Davide himself, he's been a breath of fresh air since he got the role imo, his enthusiasm and how well he deals with the fans can't be under estimated. Every time I've had any query or issue however big or small he's dealt with it, in a helpful and very timely fashion and not once has he failed to follow up, if I haven't been able to get in touch. He obviously loves the club and seems to do his job professionally and with plenty of passion.

Opinions - good
Personal comments - bad
continued personal comments when you don't know who has done what in this situation - sad

In one post you are saying they should have communicated, but the next you say he is poor becuase he has attempted to answer your comments in the public forum you raised them in.

I've tried, getting tired now. Can't explain it any more clearly.

Post taken from the Cas nutjob forum. The fact that the camera and as such the microphone are based on the western terrace and as such, due to the full segregation, means the said comment must have been by a Hull fan is going to upset the sad deliquents I should imagine.

Maybe we should all write in about our fullback getting pelted by missiles on good friday. No doubt about that one.

[iHere is the email I have just sent to the RFL (mainly for my own amusement with regards to what response, if any, I receive)

Dear RFL,

Upon viewing the highlights from Easter Mondays action between Wakefield and Hull FC on the super league website, some instances of homophobic comments have come to my attention. The words 'rent boy' are directed towards an RFL touch judge from a Wakefield fan/fans 2 minutes and 7 seconds into the video. Firstly, I am disappointed that this is clearly audible on a public website and quite possibly on national tv on the highlights show SL Fulltime however, the studio panels voices might drown this out. Will the RFL be investigating this matter? It seems only fair after Castleford were fined for failing to control its own crowds behavior in 2010. I assume Wakefield will be judged with the same scrutiny as Castelford were (bearing in mind a Wakefield fan managed to force their way onto the pitch and confront referee Steve Ganson last year, yet again nothing was done)?

Regards,

A concerned supporter.[/i

Does "Rent boy" imply homophobic behavious? Surely a rent boy is simply selling his.....self......for money. I don't think anything in the title implies one sex or other is on the receiving end of said transaction.
That would imply homophobic behavious on the poster surely?
Rent boys should be allowed to carry on their work without fear of being labelled in a homophobic manner by this concerend supporter.

I looked it up.......don't type it into google if you want to do the same. Make sure you go to the dictionary first!?!?!

Wow - some of them are prepared to sink pretty low; manufacturing a sense of outrage purely to try to damage another club.

That's exactely what it is! Their club is falling apart, they can't afford to replace cables, floodlights, the stadium, heck they can't even afford to sack Millward. It's a pity that they're trying to take us down with them instead of actually supporting their club and getting behind them when they need the supporters. The RFL are not daft and will see straight through that email.

The majority of Cas fans are let down by a few as are we

You may take them as personal, but they are not. The way you have waded in on here with a mixture of bravery and naivety does nothing to endorse your capability to perform a senior management role at the club in my opinion, and if that's personal then I'm sorry but it's my right to comment when you come on here riding roughshod over some peoples' views having performed awfully in implementing significant and unwarranted changes to the matchday experience without doing the leg work and the basics on root cause first. If you don't like my criticism, then I suggest that you stop reading threads on messageboards full stop, because as an officer of the club you're going to get some flak when poor decisions are made.

This is supposed to be independent of the club, so I'd be disappointed if they closed it because you asked them to.
If you want a forum where you have editorial control then set one up on the club's own website.'"

I have to say a well done to Davide for coming on the forum to put the clubs point of view to every fan.Im not at all happy with what has happened being moved from the western terrace and my 9 year old is well annoyed as he cant watch the game as good as he could.I can see it from both the fans and the clubs point of view and once again its the few that spoil it for the many. The club can do without a £20k fine thats the equivelant of 160 fans paying for a season ticket at the reduced price.
As true fans we also owe it to the club to point out these trouble makers and not just up to key security staff to do a job they are paid for.I will be sending Davide an email when I get back from work on my thoughts and it wont be insulting even though it will only be read by him as at the end of the day the guy is only doing his job and taking the recomendations from others involved.

What about this for a compromise. There are a limited number of season tickets sold for those who wish to stand on the western terrace. The tickets are clearly marked as western terrace and the holders pay a bit extra to reflect the fact they are getting what they deem to be the best view.

Only away fans other than said season ticket holders can stand on the western terrace.

This allows the club to control the number of home fans on the western terrace and make it easier to identify those who are guilty of overstepping the mark.

May be easier said than done (and may be something that would have to wait for next season to be implemented) but does offer a solution that cud potentially suit all parties

The thread won't be locked (it can't be) unless the mods are given good reason or the AUP is broken.

But personal comments aimed at Davide are off the cards, i'm know for a fact he will discuss any items of that sort but not on this board.

You may or may not think anything you post is personal or not but you are not making that call.

Any posts that we feel are personal toward Davide will be removed and posters who persist will lose posting rights.
