LOL what a surprise, bet you can't wait. Do change the Flippin record.
You have no idea how the team will shape up for next year any more than I do.
I find it hard to believe that you are the long-time fan that you claim to be. Anyone who's supported this club, certainly in SL, will know that a small feast always follows famine.
2000-2003 pretty terrible - 2004 Brilliant
2005 poor, 2006 awfull- 2007 8th -2008 8th + CC semi final 2009 5th!
2010 to 2011 poor - 2012 8th
2013 to 2015 poor - 2016 8th, 2017 5th, 2018 a very unlucky 9th
2019 to present poor
Do you not see a pattern?
All teams go in cycles, it's just that ours are more modest and more frequent due, certainly in the past, to a financial inability to keep key players. Despite what people choose to think, all the coaching in the world will not compensate for our inability to keep and or recruit the highest calibre players, it just won't. Once in a blue moon, a Trinity type club will have an epic season but without the cash to build it simply can't last and that is our story. Getting rid of CC won't change that, not even in the short term, that's just a fans fantasy. CC can easily be saved by the addition of a few key players, they don't even need to be well known, just right for the club and that's up to him and I support him in that aim.
You can name as many potential and above all realistic coaching/player as signings you want but the results will be the same. More to the point name the ones who would actually come, that's a far shorter list.
If you all want to see the root cause of our problems go down to BV right now as it's a grey day and just stand in the car park and really look at the place. Then ask yourself how do you sell this to players and coaches and above all fans and sponsors. Be honest, don't pretend it just takes a bit of effort and creativity because that's b*llocks!
Then drive to Headingley or Saints and take a look. We are not talking about different worlds here but different universes. Yes, Cas are currently a bit of an anomaly but I suspect SL only has room for one of those. The fact that we compete at all on any level is staggering and if we do get relegated it's probably long overdue. Yet somehow I don't think we will. Sadly I don't see us at the top of SL any time soon.
