I don't agree. Somebody having a beer doesn't make my eyes irritated or my clothes and hair stink, but someone chuffing away on a tab does.

funny how drinking can be defended at any cost, prob more people drink than smoke. Im willing to bet that if no drink was sold at the ground segregation wouldnt be a big issue. Dont think that 2 groups of smokers would be likely to go beyond banter, on the other hand 2 groups of drinkers would .

I think you'll find that as one of the more persistent protagonists on the segregation thread I have pointed out that the club's relentless desire to flog as much booze at the ground is key catalyst for the reasons cited by the club for the segregation. Others have made the same point too, and there are a number of well structured posts detailing concerns about the link between alcohol and idiocy.

Rest assured you won't be smoking at Newmarket. It's a shame you can't be more considerate to others around you at Belle Vue, although you could sneak on to the west terrace as it'll be virtually deserted for the most part like it was on Monday and then your filthy smoke won't impact anyone.

If you cant smoke so be it, on the recent visit to London match an area was set aside, no problems. You sir also dont know if im considerate or not, and at the moment i and other smokers dont have to sneak around BV. With regards to Newmarket I am not a season ticket holder, I have been to 3 home games so far. I will not be visiting Newmarket if a smoking areas not provided.

I am a non Smoker, and don't drink at games but I do understand that it is part of the matchday routine for many. I can't stand smoking and absolutely hate the smell on my clothes and hair, not to mention the proven health effects - but surely a reasonable compromise must be that smoking is not allowed under cover but can be done in the open air?

So someone smokes on the open terrace and the wind is blowing your way you then miss part of the game due to coughing your guts up.
We have segregation of fans and one of the reasons is health and safety well on health and safety reasons segregate the smokers.

I think we should segregate based on height, the shorties and the front and those that have made the effort to grow at the back.
