i see what you mean, but at the end he walks into are squad and could remain a wakefield for sum time to come even if we are in the championship next year. what superleague club are gonna offer him better than that because he is knocking on

Players are dis-loyal if they leave, but they're just hangers on if they stay.

Give 'em a break - it's crap for them more than it is for us!

Don't forget that the cap drops to something rediculous like £300k. BJ will be one of the clubs higher earners, and, no offence to him, but, he isn't the type of player to build a squad around. Or have as the 'star signing' if you will.

With respect any of your players being offered a deal past this year at a club 'guranteed' a franchise would but soft not to take it! It's just a shame it's all come about during the start of the season!

Plus a few good players already gone (maybe good mates) and could be thinking in for a very difficult season and be looking for a new club for 2012+ in a few months anyway!

all ways family first, just thinking long term for jeffries might be better at wakey even though we will be in the championship. and he would be a good role model for the younger players. plus like you said about the salary cap in ther championship, cas had brough down there so think we could have jeffries if he wanted to stay.

On about the loyalty question! Like any Champ club, we have to appreciate when the likes of Briggs / Royston etc want to play SL as better money & prospects! Few 'stay loyal' like Thackeray but that can depend on other circumstances as mentioned like playing time, future prospects of club etc.

But that's how it works - a player goes to a club that values them more than others do - both financially and personally.

Anyone who is prepared to stay and fight with / for / alongside us at this time has the best value of anyone right now and will do very well for me!

Not sure how much Cas will have being paying Brough tho. Don't forget he had been shown the door by Hull and needed a contract. Wouldn't have thought it would have been as much as BJ will be on. I can definatly see what you mean about the longer term for him tho.

like you said earlier if we dropped down a league his contract would be re done. all im thinking about at the moment is are long term future. but would also be nice to have a player down there as good as what brough was for cas. even better, would be nice if we are in superleague next year instead.
