I'd give you a month of him playing before you were constantly on here saying "Why did we sign this piece of ****" and you were recommending we got rid of him asap.

And Millard looked like a world beater on his youtube montage - need to be very careful.

Too true, and he would get the ball more often as well.

| Quote: Uptoncat "Read the thread title old chap. They're who I'd like to see not who I expect to see! Widdop won't be on mega bucks and we could give him valuable experience at a higher level than Toyota Cup, he would also be in a position to take part in the England training camps, team meetings etc. Langley is in his testamonial season, he turned down a big offer from Wire three seasons ago knowing his testamonial money would more than cover his wage increase offered by wire. He'll be around 29 now and he's been pretty unlucky with injuries in his career (this season he's had a relatively injury free run) so he won't be able to command a massive wage. LMS and Elima are current internationals and would be the most expensive players on the list but wouldn't command the wages as the likes of Sinfield etal. Another I'd like to see would be Luke Burgess from Leeds, don't know whether he's out of contract this season though.'"
Do you really think Widdop would gain valuable experience playing at Wakefield, give us a break. He plays in the NSW Cup which is a decent league on its own. He will be playing stand off next year when Finch moves to Wigan so I don't fancy your chances.

Regards signings I think the loan market will need to be played very well to maximise the effectiveness of Trinity next year. Its not ideal but there are many young lads hungry for a shot who are crucially SL standard.'"
Then the SL will fall to without them.

| Quote: Uptoncat "Looks like Penny and Jessy Joe Parker have signed if we believe the rumours.
Gareth Widdop on loan for a season anyone?
Bracek
Sharp
Louis McCarthy-Sarsbrook
Elima
Gareth Moore (Batley s/h)
Langley
McShane (season long loan)
All British (Elima apart - does French count on the quota)
All home trained (Widdop apart)
None of the above should be too expensive - Langley just had a testimonial, Elima and Scarsbrook probably the most expensive and all could add something to our side.'" We arnt getting widdop i cant see melbourne letting him go, they said he was an experiment and i think with melbourns problems at the moment they will keep him.

I bet I wont we have had enough useless wingers in the last 4 years Blanch been great for 2 years but this last 2 years dear me. George injured every week and wont even mention Petersen . Only winger we had we offered him peanuts to stay and look at him now Mr Fox awesome! Paul Cullen said Penny was far too good for NL1 . Id get 2 new wingers in and that would be penny ainscough or sharp. They are quality wingers compared to what we have had. Much as everyone is slating Kear I feel he can still get the best out of some of the players and I reckon he will know how to deal with penny. I could be wrong but I think he will do well for us. Anyway all this player talk we need this ground to help get us the top quality players fingers crossed for September,

In a top class side he would be a revelation. We don't have anybody who can supply him quality ball or put him into the gaps. Imagine him playing off Solomona?!
Overseas players are usually a completely different proposition in their second season too. Look at Scott Donald when he came to Leeds, he looked like the slowest overseas winger ever too play in Super League but he's scored some cracking tries since then. Pat Richards looked pretty average, now he's a points machine.

Agree with that statement, expect a better 2nd season. Provided we get a scrum half or somebody to get us round the field.

| I wouldnt say revelation he was a 3rd choice centre at Canteberry. Atkins was better but i must admit its hard for a centre in our current side so i will give him time.
