| I agree the chants from the Hull FC fans towards Paul Cooke were disgraceful , i'm suprised the RFL did not take action , the FC fans did that to him when he played for us.
Good luck for the rest of the season .

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |

cheers, same to you, but I think we need luck with the players we've got mre than you. Unless kear makes some drastick changes this weekend. ( not that I'm expecting a win v hudds but a few changes can't do any harm against a team 90% expect to lose to anyway)

| Quote: chapster "i heard today, from a reliable source, that HKR are being told to improve their pitch, ground, stewarding, access facilities, parking, match day environment, and local area in time for the 2012 franchises, if not KC time, until such time as a viable east hull provides a for a family friendly 21st century stadium for both home and away fans.
glass houses and stones old bean'"
Super League clubs will score a point for each of the following criteria they satisfy:
*1. A stadium capacity of at least 12,000;
2. An average crowd of 10,000 or more;
*3. An average crowd that fills at least 40% of a club's stadium capacity;
4. A turnover of at least £4 million per annum;
*5. Solvency, in accordance with accounting definitions of solvency, although this criterion can be satisfied if there is a written owner's guarantee of the club's debts;
*6. A reasonable playing strength, which is likely to be satisfied if the club has finished the season in the top eight in each of the last three years;
7. A reasonable contribution to junior development, judged by the number of scholarships and the performances of the club's under-21 and under-18 Academy teams in the last three years;
8. The stadium meeting the standard of a premier sporting competition, which is judged on the quality and quantity of its facilities in accordance with detailed criteria;
9. Geographical position: clubs that are more than 20 miles away from any other Super League club will be allocated one point on this criterion;
*10. Compliance with salary cap regulations. Specifically, clubs must not have incurred any beach of the salary cap in the last three years.
Licence categories:
A - 8+ points
B - 5-7 points
C - <4 points
Now remember that we have already submitted and have got acceptance for another east stand extension plus the funding is already in place and that would take us over 12k.
I count that as 5 points and a B by the RFL's own criteria.
So whomever told you that is blowing sunshine up you bumhole 'old bean'.

| Quote: red chilli "I see the Wakefield fans are getting nervous.
Yes our pitch looked a bit "dry" on Saturday night i agree, however our groundsman has won several awards for our pitch , now about our ground , we had the chance to play at the KC but declined this offer as we are an East Hull club ( yes i know the club originated in West Hull many moons ago), Our fans create a fantastic atmosphere at Craven Park the East Stand on their day can be very loud this lifts the players they have said so themselves if your fans or players find this intimidating tough!!! it called an atmosphere and money can't buy it , even if you did have any money which you don't you still couldn't buy it , so you will never have one .
As for two SL clubs in Hull ...our derby is the only true derby in SL the atmosphere is awesome , the rivalry and banter between the fans in the city is crazy all year we are a proper RL city.
Lets face it you have been under the eye of the RFL for years and have had several warnings which your club seemed to have ignored, i don't come to wakey anymore your ground is awful there is no atmosphere maybe that will improve if Castleford let you play in their new ground, the pundits have hinted at you both merging anyway so who knows .'"
Welcome to RLFans mate. Fully agree with everything you said there.
Went to Wakey a few weeks ago, fans seem nice bunch + like it as a traditional ground, but it's no better then ours IMO.

| The whole RL licence thing is a load of S***E and we all know it. If your face fits your in Super League and thats that. Crusaders and London get propped up by SL Funding. One day theyre on their a**e next minute starting up somewhere else under a different name, same happened at Gateshead with Hull and sheffield with Hudds but was called a merger, 1 million backhander and pick of the best players!!! If they cant stand on theyre own 2 feet let them go to the wall and let someone else have a go. The rumours over coaches and players of certain teams getting paid by SL is disgusting when other clubs are struggling to pay players and get no help. when will they learn that youll never get afoothold in Rugby Union lands.

1999 mate , After they had merged with Gateshead and raped the club and left them in a mess, they were then handed 1.25 million
from the RFL over the next two years , i feel sorry for Gateshead they are in the now lost a lot of ganes on the bounce , Castlefords assistant coach has taken over has he not ?.
Hull FC showed what some clubs can do when a merger takes place they screwed Gateshead bigtime and it stinks.
I do feel for the Wakey & Cas fans i know both are passionate fans and can understand you digging your heels in but i honestly think if you continue to do this the RFL will screw you , if your face fits like Hull FC's did, like Harlequins , like Crusaders you will be looked after if it doesn't and you them off your days are numbered , they are corrupt and ruin our sport.
In my opinion they should stop flogging the dead horse with Quins & Crusaders and look after the " M62" teams , proper rugby league clubs , i have heard the RFL pay Brian Nobles wages !!!.

| Quote: Fred Gee "Maybe we are biased lot us Wakey fans but alot feel that SL / RFL would be glad to kick us out come the next round of licences mainly based on our ageing ground, yes i know there are several strands to the licence but we all know that SL /RFL like nice new stadiums even if it means that the majority of the time they play in them when they are 50-60% empty. The SL/RFL I feel for whatever reason have a soft spot for Hull KR but I as many of you will have been to their ground.I genuinely do not think their ground is much better and did you see the pitch tonight I have seen and played on better park pitches it was a disgrace it looked like it had been cut with a pair of blunt scissors.But you never hear any moaning threats about their ground from the powers that be when the licences are due.
Talking of the RFL, heard a rumour this week that they pay Brian Nobles wages at the Crusaders, don't know if anyone else has heard this, but this came from a player there, so you would like to think there was an elementof truth. Also heard that the money is not exactly flowing there and Harris maybe taking over from Noble sooner than people anticipated.'"
Agree with you on this Fred, i would rather have a tratidional ground like ours , yours , Cas , Leeds , Bradford & Saints etc than the new stadiums , Saints are playing at Widnes next year until their ground is ready.
I really prefer the traditional grounds seated & terracing banter between the fans , no shiny stadiums just to look good on the TV that are half full if your lucky the atmosphere is e , come on RFL put money into redevolping existing stadiums forget the money you waste on Crusaders , Catalans & Quins " Look after your own " .

Quote: Gaslight "What I'll always associate Hull KR with is overzealous stewards who get forceful with people for standing up in their unsafe "temporary" stand and the time they came to the Jungle for a 12pm kick off and by the end of the game most of the Princess Street stand was covered in green beer bottles from the Hull KR fans who overtook the stand, who drinks THAT much at that time of day? not to mention the general sense of something is going to kick off when you're near any of their fans, and the police must have thought so too moving the kick off to 12.
Worst team in SL imo, get rid of them no room for 2 Hull clubs etc.'"
This is true. They have a 'What are you looking at' mentality.
Have you noticed if one of their players makes a big hit then it's great but if the opposition do it then they are viewtopic.php?f=33&t=421878
I will never,ever go to their ground again, i'm glad they are in SL,out of the way.

| Forget that Criteria cr@p. It's a rat race between us and Cas for a franchise spot, Widnes are going to be in there, and rightly so, they were relegated in order to make way for the french, and on the last day of the season IIRC. They have a good fanbase along with a nice stadium and a good youth development system. Harelequins are seemingly untouchable despite their terrible support, poor/mediocre team and their years of changing location / name. They have been round long enough I think to determine success or failure. But of course they will be somehow overlooked when it comes to the chop. With regards to Crusaders, I think although their business looks at this point in time, doomed to fail, they will be allowed a few more years to see if they can establish themselves as a viable Super League club.
So in the end, its down to us and Cas, and whoever does the best job of convincing the RFL their stadium will have bricks down in time before 2012.
The likes of Leigh, Halifax and Featherstone won't get a look in IMO, which is a shame I reckon, these clubs would make for great away days, especially Featherstone for me personally.
