You mean apart from the evidence from the Fax board, who publicly state "we have had feedback on our bid, we were wrong, the decision was fair".

That is the strongest evidence out there. You can't simply deny it just because it doesn't fit your seemingly entrenched position.

I do respect you Starbug but you are just been bitter here now mate... it is over and the decision is made! It is clear that the Halifax BOD now know what did happen and that would seem to validate the rumours that Halifax's bid was poor (against other bids) and was never in the running.

As for your position of maintaining that the RFL had to make a decision in a matter of hours, I think that is horse crap and I can't believe you believe that they did! The rumour is and, lets face, anyone not carrying a chip on their shoulder about it could take an educated guess at, that the KMPG report submitted a few weeks before the deadline was the catalyst for the RFL finally realising that the game could be up at Crusaders. The RFL again, according to rumour, held 'many' meetings with the Crusaders probably at first with a view to understanding if they could be saved but then as the announcement deadline loomed they then put their efforts into getting Crusaders to withdraw their bid. They knew several weeks out that they may have to make this decision as time went on, so this last minute rubbish is just that IMO... rubbish!

No evidence because the Fax board haven't seen the Wakey bid , have they , they have been told what to say , so as not to jeopodise any future applications , but the point being , is that how it should be ? , are the sports governing body that sensitive to criticism , that they would be ' vindictive ' to any club that has a grievance , and also the fans of that club , are we all supposed to just take whatever they say , without asking Why ?

So why not just make the decision , instead of putting your club through weeks of worry , that lets face it , did actually damage your club and it's preparation for next season

The decision on the Crusaders should have been made public straight away , but they didn't , because then the Crusaders players also then probably wouldn't have performed

It is the process that is flawed , it just doesn't work , they have stated a Championship club will enter SL next time , but also that SL is more likely to decrease than increase in numbers

So what happens next time ? , 3 clubs out , 1 in , so who maybe , Cas,Wakey and Salford out [ all in new stadiums ] , that will work well ?

There seems to be three points to your argument

1, Halifax were hard done by, something you now must accept isn't true.

2, the franchise system has flaws, something almost everyone agrees with

3, Wakefield got lucky, which you won't accept is wrong and that there's zero evidence to support, only a media proliferated speculation which lead to it becoming popularly accepted.

Not the term I'd prefer to use , as point 2 , the system is flawed , in 2008 , you said you'd have a stadium , so did Cas , so did Salford , my opinion is a stadium doesn't matter , Leigh were a more viable SL club in Hilton Park than in the LSV , where we probably arent even a viable Championship club , so we you lucky , yes and no , yes because of the administration rule change , but then you might not have taken that option , then if you hadn't taken that option you might not have got a new owner

So too many variables to made a solid judgement , you are still in SL , but a lot of work to stay in SL , who could realistically replace you and be a better bigger club ? , nobody , and that isn't likely to change for the foreseable future

From the point of view of the Championships , we have just lost our ' Leeds ' , this 3 seasons after losing our ' Wigan ' , we havent anybody left to play , nothing to encourage fans to support , if you had dropped down it would have been a fair swap , instead we get nothing , we dont know who we are playing next season ?, how many games we will play ?, clubs currently dont know what they are playing for as regards P and R ?

The whole idea that Trin would be the team to go is completely media based. Every newspaper and tv report proclaimed that it would be us to drop out. So much anti Wakey media propaganda that even the clubs owner / board started to believe it.
At no point before or since "Franchise Day" has it been stated anywhere that Wakey were the team that would have dropped out. Not once anywhere.
I would like some official statement from RL to say who was going to be dropped. It would stop all the speculation. It would also be a kick up the backside to the one who it was to be. But we all know that will never happen as RL are not transparent.

Blame the RFL for this one. In the build up to this round of franchises, the talk was always of 1 club being "promoted" and one club to drop out of SL and that is exactly what happened.
Of course there is small print in the franchise rules and regs for additional teams up and down, maybe Fax should have been asked to apply, but remember, thier application wasnt the strongest in the NL never mind the existing SL clubs.
I do have sympathy for them, but its the system that is flawed.
Lets get back to P/R.

As much as I blame the RFL for stringing fax along, their chairman has shown himself up for being the smalltime wmc comittee gobe he is.
