He's a good quality second row. Let's play him there'"
Not sure I agree PT I think that versatility is a key component in players these days, Indeed one only has to look at Kiwi and Kangaroo selection to see that many plyers are selected for rep football playing in positions that are not their usual club positions.
As for Storton... I figured we had signed him as a lock forward/ middle, which is where (I think) he plays his best football, but I guess we will see on Friday where he plays.

Watching a handful of KR games this season he was second row every one of them I watched and played very well. He tends to come off the bench and play an impact edge second row role when he’s not starting. He has played some prop in previous years but the looks filling in but I’ve only seen him play second row so can’t really say like you it’s his best position.
Looking forward to seeing him though. He’ll add some quality and he’s a very robust player.

| Definately played most of his games at second row.
Not flashy, but a grafter

That's a different thing.
Playing a top quality player at International because they play well anywhere and you have another top quality player to backfill, and you have a temporary gap for one game is not the same as playing a second row at prop at club level.
If we have an injury then of course. And versatility is very important for our team. But if you have to consciously play a second row at prop in the first game of the season, or consistently through the season...you need another prop.

You only need to look at Tanginoa. Absolutely criminal how he was played at prop for such a prolonged period.
Even though he had hands like cow udders at times he was good at second row and barely average at prop yet we continued to prop him. Truly bizarre that was.

McMeeken had never played prop until McNamara moved him there for the third game of the season.

But we don't need to.
Lots of SR become prop but we don't need him to move and we need SRs.

| Reports we are competing with Catalan for MacDonald
I keep saying I'm happy with our team but he would be a great addition.
He and Tom would be devastating together

| McDonald,if we could get him, is too good to miss.We have plenty of centres who are quality and in a year or two could be exceptional, but nobody near him at the moment.

Johnstone and Macdonald would be hands down the best wing partnership in SL. Would be an absolute nightmare for defences to manage. Give either the space and could be fatal.
I have no problem and would rather us sign players who would improve our 17. Macdonald or Stone fall into that.
We may have 6 players who can play centre but Macdonald would improve us for a couple of years.
I would be tempted to offer to send a centre on season long loan their way in return. Someone like Myers who could get some SL games under his belt at no cost to Salford and no risk to trinity. With a recall clause ofcourse.

They have their own kids.
It wouldn't be fair on him to send Myers.
